Wednesday Night ... Steak Night ... We booked a table for two and arrived for a wee mid-week treat at one of our favourite haunts in this area. Though busy, the usual first rate attention was up and ready for us and we were quickly seated and bewatered, leaving us an unhurried amount of time to peruse our choices. As it happened, we were both there for the steaks and chose how we like them done. The waitress listened carefully and every detail indicated came to our table as ordered. Suffice to say, the ten-quid-a-head rump steaks were absolutely spot on and were absolutely as good as it gets. This restaurant goes from strength to strength.

Once again brilliant evening meal on Tuesday night with wife and mother. we all chose fish and chips as they tasted lovely last time we visited in easter. sticky toffee pudding was also loved by all. Friendly, lovely staff were so efficient, great atmosphere with pleasant comfortable seating area. Look forward to my next visit, for something different on menu as all looks fabulous. Big thanks to 3 waitresses.

We were staying in nearby Kirriemuir and the landlady suggested we eat at Armstrong’s. We are very pleased she made the suggestion. Every evening meal we had there, and there were four, was well worth the recommendation although one fish meal was a little bland but that was our taste. Service was very good, tables and cutlery were very clean, good selection of drinks. We do not normally give tips but we did every night as we were very impressed.

First visit to Armstrongs after being recommended. Tastefully decorated and the staff were welcoming and efficient.
We ordered lentil soup, deep fried brie wedges and haggis, neaps & tatties for starters followed by chicken fajitas, club sandwich and steak pie and to finish homemade pavlova. All dishes were very tasty and well presented. The total including drinks was a very reasonable £55. I would have no hesitation in recommending and will certainly be returning again soon.
