“Great place with a lovely cafe”

I think this is perhaps the best pot of tea available in Aberdeen, and with the prettiest cups.
The cafe is big, modern, clean and with an extension that's actually in the botanical gardens.
It can get busy with families, so if you're there on a non school day you might struggle to get a seat.
There is also a well-stocked ice cream parlour with a huge variety of flavours.
Do have a pot of tea though, it really is a great brew.
The park itself is lovely, there's a play park for kids, wide open spaces, the botanical gardens has the usual array of exotic plants, with the smells and visual delights.
It's free, so a great place for families.

What a brilliant place to come on a cold spring morning!! Families were enjoying the hothouses, couples were getting romantic with ideas of proposals.
The cafe was busy. Staff were efficient. Toilets were clean. What a difference to 40 years previously. (The park is still wonderful. The winter gardens are the jewel, however)

We went on a rainy day and it turned out to be a good choice, even for someone like me that doesn’t enjoy horticulture normally. Free entry and easy to roam around.
