Walked here from Cruden Bay its about half mile from car park up a lovely track that takes you along the coast edge, but you can drive all the way.
No charge to get in and nobody to stop you climbing all over it. (not sure this is a good thing) you can access all parts of the castle right up to the 4th floor of the tower. Be careful as there is no protection in the castle window and its a long way down.
Walk around the castle gives you some awesome shots of the sea crashing on the rocks below.
The castle is in good condition and would look great if you had a spare 10 million to do it up
I can see where Bram Stoker got his inspiration from the place definitely has that eery fear fact. Worth a visit

You have to do this at least once if you are in the area. This is where Bram Stoker got the idea for Dracula. It's a short hike to get there, but it is really an awesome location and ruin. Great spot for photos! We want to go back!

We have been there several times, taking our friends and family to see those great ruins. It has a wonderful location, next to the sea. I would not say that the history is something special. There are stairs that take you up as well if you feel courageous.

Choose a sunny day, because the best way to enjoy the castle is to walk on foot from the car park in Cruden Bay, as you can then take in some of the spectacular coastal scenery. However, if you so wish, it is possible to drive up to the castle. Well worth a visit if you are i the area.
