A grand hotel in the grand manner - meaning friendly well-trained staff. We had a huge room with a bay widow over looking the woods, as wel as an ante-room and sizeable bathroom. As expected for a old Scottish hotel, the place was furbished in tartans, stained glass, Victorian era-style wallpaper and carpets, and dark oak paneling. Add a cozy bar and beautiful dining room and you have the makings of a pleasant experience reminiscent of another era. With the excellent food that was served at both dinner and breakfast, this hotel deserves to be on your list for visiting the Aberdeen region.
