“Wonderful setting with fabulous ever changing views”

We came to this area for a family wedding at the Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle and wanted to stay for a few days with our extended family. We were delighted to find this property to rent. It really proved to be a very special find.
The situation is absolutely stunning. From the living room and front conservatory type porch as well as the front two bedrooms you can watch all the birds on the inlet in front of the house in addition to the Mourne mountains in the background. It is peaceful and yet close to Newcastle and Dundrum. The gorgeous Dundrum bay is close by and can be accessed along a delightful board walk close to the house.
The house is a recently modernised ,lovely comfortable bungalow with a huge open plan living, dining room kitchen. It has every convenience,is extremely clean with everything practically brand new. Sandra made sure we had everything we needed for our little grandson including a cot and a high chair. We loved this property and would be absolutely delighted to stay again in the future.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?

Beautiful scenery. Beautiful house. Beautiful through and through. High spec finish throughout. Mum wants to live there, amongst the birds, bunnies and horses. To Sandra and Ray (owners) - the house is beautiful through and through. Thank you for letting us stay!

Stayed for 5 nights in Mourne Retreat with my husband and two friends for a relaxing getaway and were very impressed from the moment we met our very friendly hosts Sandra and Ray. House is bright and spacious and kitted out to the highest specifications including wifi. The view across the estuary with the Mourne Mountains as a backdrop is simply breathtaking ever changing with the weather. Whether you are a walker, birdwatcher, reader or simply need to rest and relax or all of the above, you will not be disappointed with this house. Restaurants, shops and lovely drives all within easy striking distance.

“Excellent accommodation in an idyllic location”
Reviewed 30 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We rented the house for a long weekend to coincide with a family wedding.
It has been renovated to a high standard, easy accessibility to Newcastle & surrounding area, fantastic views of mountains & estuary,
One of our party had to be left back to Belfast on Mon morning - easy 40 minute journey.
Ideal for anyone interested in birdwatching, beach walks, peace & quiet - yet only 5 mins from restaurants, bars, shops etc
Owners were most welcoming & helpful, providing cot, highchair etc at short notice.
A most enjoyable weekend, and we hope to return.

“Unbelievable!”
Reviewed 27 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This was an unbelievable retreat to wind down and relax. The property was simply fantastic. It was open plan and very modern. Situated on the edge of Murlough Bay it gave us all opportunities to go on lovely walks to a near by beach. The property was just the perfect size and had plenty of space for young children to run about.

The retreat came with Wifi-Fi, TV stations and all other modern requirements. Watching the Sun go down right in front of the property is certainly a sight to be seen.

Would highly recommend this retreat, not 1 bad thing to say about our stay!
