Great food which is fresh and well cooked. You get only a few chips included with your fish so make sure you order more.
Just take note no card machine.

This has to be the worst fish shop I have ever visited. After a very long walk the children were hungry so we popped in for some chips. The chips were terrible, all different colours and shocking taste. Battered sausage had been battered all right with the cheapest sausage imaginable. The fish cake was wrongfully names due to the absence of any fish. The picture of a perfect portion of fish and chips on their website is far removed from the food I bought. Even the kids turned their noses up. Avoid this place at all costs

Mortons is the best known Chippie in Ballycastle by visitors but it is extremely busy during the summer. The foodi is great but locals tend to use the Golden Chip up the hill in Castle Street who some say have nicer chips.

We were staying in Ballycastle for a few days and decided to have cod and chips one evening, after a hard days sightseeing. There were eighteen people in front of me and I thought it would take ages to get served. After ordering, we had to wait 15 minutes on our food, but considering the queue, that was not too bad. It was well worth the wait - batter on the fish was light and crispy, fish itself very fresh and well cooked and chips lovely - the best fish and chips we have had in years! Well done Morton's - keep up the good work!

Big queue tells you all you need to know about this place but it is not all good news. Service was reasonably quick for the amount of people looking to place orders (a lot) and prices were what I expected. Chips are really nice and they give you 3 sausages instead of the normal 2. Fish batter was however slightly greasy which was a surprise but then I am spoiled by my local chippy which has won loads of awards and the fish is excellent. So to sum up; this is very good but if you like dry crispy batter this may not be for you.
