Central location, close to Titanic Museum, and trendy bars. The hotel is rather stately looking from outside, with its sandstone(?) highly decorated exterior and Victoriana styling, the interior, however morphs into a more modern elegance and style, with just a hint of its past. A perfect balance, in keeping with its status. We had the unfortunate experience of turning a five minute journey from our starting point, which due to very recent, town planning ideas for pedestrian streets became a Groundhog Day experience, as Ms Satnav kept sending us in circles! Fear not a phone call to hotel reception resulted in Wonderwoman Tina, donning her cape and rushing to our rescue. Within minutes she found us by using her superpowers and, flash, bang we were in the car park and escorted to her desk. Our room was fabulous, the bed, large and comfortable. Everything was elegant, the artwork modern, the decor soothing and relaxing and plenty of nibbles and drinks on hand if required. Tea facilities with complimentary biscuits and in our grade of room a few little delightful extras. As for the restaurant food - faultless. See my restaurant review for details. Special thanks to all of the staff on duty for their consideration and helpful service, you were a credit to the hotel chain. (October 2nd 2018)

Room Tip: Highly recommend 202 which can be linked with 201 for friends/family group, also very peaceful.

Fortunately this Malmaison hotel in Belfast was significantly better than the one in Edinburgh!
The interior was clean and newer. The restaurant for breakfast was also very lovely.
This hotel had elevators and the room was very nice, clean and updated. There were plenty of outlets for our devices. I would also say our room was moderately sized. Not extremely small but not large. I do wish it had more places for our bags.
The beds were great however the pillows could be approved upon.
We had a great view of the city of Belfast outside our window however the window was not that insulated and there was a lot of city noise. Fortunately I have an app on my iPad that simulates a white noise generator.:)
The breakfast was not included but was very nice and worth it in my opinion. Belfast was also steps away from this hotel.

First trip to Belfast so hotel was chosen on location and picture rather than price. Interesting building that has been sympathetically converted. Personally I thought the "bijou" décor a little pretentious but it was consistent throughout. Room good but bed was far too high. Snacks in rooms were unnecessary as 24 your desk downstairs. Restaurant excellent but food a bit too "cheffy" for me. Breakfast fine and £2 to upgrade to cooked is a bargain.

Room Tip: Park overnight in Hi Park.

I have to say my expectations for this hotel were high after reading all the reviews prior to our visit.

The location was excellent being less than 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral district restaurants and bars (we liked The Thirsty Goat and Cloth Ear) which was a really cool area. Lack of on site parking is always a let down, having to drive a block and park in a parking station and then walk back and forward to get to car and validate parking at the office is not a luxury start/end to your stay!

The lobby ambiance is really nice and had been renovated well. The room itself was very dark and unusually hot considering the cool weather, I would not want to have stayed in summer!

Breakfast was good and the £2 upgrade to a cooked breakfast was great value!

Reception staff at check in and check out were warm and friendly.

Overall the hotel was ok, but not somewhere I would book again.

Thank you PaulandRachel1 for your review.

I am sorry you were disappointed with your stay so much so that you feel you wouldn't book again. The car parking situation I appreciate is not ideal but is similar to may other city centre hotels.
