Fascinating museum with a good collection of imaginatively displayed exhibits. We liked the large number of interactive displays on social history. Will be back as we only had two hours to look around.

It's a great space but the museum seems to house several conference rooms, so there isn't a great deal to see. The facilities are good, there are adequate toilets and several options for snacks or drinks. Nearby parking is expensive but £1 is redeemable.

This is an interesting museum especially for people interested in local industry and transport. It not only displays machines but explains processes like the making of steel, slate and even gold mining. everything is well set out and nicely illustrated.

The display in the central atrium is usually really good and if there is an art exhibition from the university that adds some unusual pieces to see, otherwise it is your run of the mill museum with some nice local history and a few mildly interactive exhibits.

The museum was very busy on the day we went but we still could get to see the exhibits. We attended a very interesting and informative lecture about laughter. This place would be good for people of all ages and even better is that it is free entry
