“excellent holiday rental property”
Reviewed 28 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I stayed at Swn Y Nant with my wife and son for a weekend in July. The house is excellent. It is superbly equipped and in a great location (in countryside 3 miles from Brecon). Warm welcome from the owner, Helen who was very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

“Five Star Lodge”

Just returned from a week stay at this wonderful Brecon Retreat. It’s obvious that a great deal of care and thought has been spent creating this five star lodge set amongst the beautiful Brecon Beacons. Every mod con is provided; highlights include the hot tub, really comfortable beds and the audio visual technology. The attention to detail was second to none, great personal touches including welcome baskets for both us and the dogs; we wanted for nothing and were made to feel extremely welcome. Cannot wait to return, we've stayed in many cottages/lodges in the UK and it doesn't come better than this.

“What a gem! ”
Reviewed 17 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Wow! What an amazing place. Clean, quiet, beautifully presented, everything you could want or need for a get away. A perfect way to spend the 1st week of our married life together. We relaxed, unwound & enjoyed the surroundings along with our dog who was also made very welcome with his own comfy bed & welcome basket. Helen was lovely & made us feel right at home. We would certainly recommend Swn Y Nant to anyone & would love to return in the future.

“Dog Friendly Dream”
Reviewed 6 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We have stayed in many self catering 'dog friendly' properties over the years but this place is truly dog friendly. Dogs allowed on the sofa (fitted high quality throws provided) and allowed to be left at the property when required which is unheard of in our experience. More places should change their attitude towards this rule as it may help reduce the amount of dogs dying each year of heat exhaustion after being left in hot cars because they can't leave them at their holiday accommodation. Of course it does help if your dog is well behaved and doesn't chew furniture or bark incessantly if left alone but if in any doubt a dog crate is also available. A luxury dog mattress, bowls, warm & cold outside doggy washing facilities & doggy goody basket with biscuits, shampoo, towel & poo bags were the icing on the cake. For the folk who don't have dogs you would never know dogs have stayed there as it smells divine throughout due to the reed diffusers & scented candles, add to that the amazingly luxurious thick robes & towels it felt like being in a spa!

As for the human accommodation well there really isn't anymore we can add from previous reviews, no expense has been spared, from the stunning building, through to the quality of fittings. We have never seen such a fully equipped property with a welcome basket that shames other places! Hair dryer, hair straighteners... You name it it's there! We particularly liked the mini iPad which we were able to message the owner with any queries & was very useful to let the owners know when we were going out and leaving our dog at the property so they knew not to do the hot tub checks until we returned. The sound system, Playstation 3 and karaoke were also a big hit and the hot tub was loved by us all especially our 6 year old son who joined us at the end of our weekend break after staying with the grandparents.

Our son was also very impressed with the owners Alpacas and Pixie the pony which he got to meet & feed. A long weekend was so completely relaxing it felt as though we had been away a lot longer. Helen the owner is really lovely and any questions we had were met with the same quality of service you would expect at this exceptional property. We have stayed in high quality lodges, barn conversions and cottages all around the UK but this really sets a new standard.
