“Charming little gem”
Reviewed 18 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Just had a long weekend in this wonderful little cottage.
It is compact so ideal for a long weekend for two people. It over looks a farm with sheep and cattle but don't worry the double glazing works well if you are concerned you will be kept awake.
There is a small iron board hidden away in the bedroom cupboard but I could not see an iron so just as well we took our own as we were attending a weeding, but I am guessing the owner would lend you theres if you do need one.
The TV has an annoying line running down the screen but who's on holiday to watch TV, you can do this at home.
Nick showed us around the cottage and explained how everything worked and was on hand if you require him.
This property is finished to a high standard and is nicely decorated and well finished.
Mobile phone service s non existing on EE and O2 at the cottage, but if you go outside and up to the gate to the field you might be lucky.
The internet in the cottage is good speed.
I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat there s a good pub in the village called the Black Cock. It does not seemed to have changed in the last 30 years. Offers great value for money meals and friendly local service.

Thank you for that David. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
I should have mentioned that the iron is kept in the cupboard under the sink and sorry you didn't spot it.
All the best,
Nick

This was our 2nd stay at Crab Apple Cottage. We love it there! It is the most perfect and peaceful spot for us from where we can explore the wilds of the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is small but perfectly formed. 2 people really don't need any more room than this. the bed is very comfortable and the kitchen, bathroom and living room are well furnished and suit our needs perfectly. Nick is a fine host providing fresh milk and eggs from the local farm. I cannot recommend this little place highly enough. We are definitely going back!

Just perfect - 1 bed, very clean, high spec finish - real luxury home from home. Perfect location and very kind hosts. Don't tell everyone because I want to book it again!! Simply cannot fault the cottage or owners. Oven, microwave, washing machine, all utensils and a lovely warm fire. Wifi, SBS player and freesat. Always eggs and milk on arrival and perfect for walking on the Brecons. See you again soon!

“Perfect base, whatever the weather!”

Had another fantastic stay in Crabapple Cottage.

We stayed here back in February and loved it so much that we quickly booked to return in June!

As per our last visit, the cottage was cosy, clean and convenient, and in a beautiful location.

We were lucky with the weather this time around and were able to enjoy the pretty countryside and make the most of the longer days by going on walks around the local area during the evenings.

We had breakfast outside each day and had a chat with the sheep, which was fab! It was tempting to spend all day in the sun with a glass of wine, but we made the most of the fact that the beacons are so close by, and walked up Pen-Y-Fan and some of the other peaks during our stay.

As always, Nick was very helpful and put in a lot of effort to ensure we had everything we needed for a relaxing few days!

Having stayed during the colder, darker winter months and now also the light evenings and sun of summer, I would recommend the cottage for stays at any time of the year! I am sure we will be back!
