Our family booked Baddegai for the Christmas holidays and we all agreed that it was a very good choice. All bedrooms are ensuite , with wonderful view of the Brecon countryside. The wood burners, with a plentiful supply of logs, made the house very warm and cosy, perfect for Christmas. We especially appreciated the very spacious and well equipped kitchen which made catering for a large gathering run smoothly. Everything has been thought through well, from the utility come boot room to the wonderful hot tub, which was greatly enjoyed by the younger members of the family. All this and the glorious Beacons - and its pet friendly, what's not to like!
The Brecon Beacons is perhaps one of the UK's most attractive National Parks, and Baddegai is extremely well placed for some of the key attractions. In the week we spent there over the New Year holiday, we were able to walk the trail around the beautiful waterfalls at Ystradfellte, including Sgwd yr Elra where the path runs behind the curtain of the water. We also walked up Pen y Fan, close to the cottage, and along the banks of the Brecon and Monmouth canal. By way of contrast, the Penderyn distillery, located in the village of the same name around 10 miles away, provides an interesting tour and whisky tasting.
Baddegai is a very well equipped property, with four en suite rooms, spacious lounge and dining room (both with wood burners) and a large and well kitted-out kitchen. It is located in a secluded valley below Pen y Fan, has a good size garden, games room and hot tub. The house is surrounded by farmland and offers a good level of privacy. The owners were particularly helpful and even allowed use of their small, astronomical telescope during our stay - well worth the effort in setting it up if the sky is clear and the moon out, given the very low level of light pollution in the Beacons.
Our party of 8 really enjoyed our stay and can fully recommend the property, its immediate location, and this part of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
This cottage is just beautiful; the location is stunning with lovely views from every room. All the bedrooms are large with own bath or shower room along with a settee so plenty of room to unwind. The living accommodation is also spacious. The wood burners were very welcome especially after a long chilly walk! Would recommend to any age, we had 3 generations and everyone lived it.
extremely nice spot and house! Very relaxed in beautiful scènetjes with many nice walks around! Dog friendly!
This was our second visit to Baddegai and we had as much enjoyment and fun as the first! The cottage is extremely comfortable, well-equipped and perfect for a gathering of family and friends. All the bedrooms are ensuite, which gives everyone their own space. The kitchen is my favourite room because it enjoys fantastic views of an ever-changing landscape. Woodburners and a generous supply of logs ensure that the cottage is warm and cosy and perfect place to sit around with a glass of wine after a hard day's walking!
Annabel and Steve are welcoming and helpful hosts, doing all they can to ensure that one's stay is a happy one. We are planning to return as soon as we can!
