“Fantastic self catering cottage on working dairy farm”

We have just returned from a relaxing family break at Dairy Cottage at Yellow Oak farm. The cottage is a light, modern and spacious conversion of a former farm outbuilding. The cottage is located within the working farm but is self contained and there was plenty of space and freedom for the kids.

The cottage is well furnished with comfortable sofas in the lounge (with Digital TV) and the kitchen is also very well kitted out (plenty of crockery, pots and pans etc) with a large electric hob, fan oven & microwave etc.

The bedrooms are spacious and airy although there are velux windows without blinds in the double (so be warned it can be a bit bright in the morning). The twin has a large window with thin blinds so those with young kids may wish to bring a black-out blind to ensure you aren't up with the cockerel! However, take this as a tip and it should not put you off in the slightest.

The location is perfect for exploring North Wales as well as the North West of England and frankly we could have spent a couple of weeks more and still have been struggling to do everything we wanted. The farm is, however, in a remote (for a townie) but lovely location. You will either see this as an advantage to help relax ... or not!

The owner (Audrey) was incredibly welcoming and helpful and the kids loved spending time looking at the animals and had the added treat of bottle feeding Charlie the lamb. We also had the treat of fresh milk "direct from source" as well as fresh eggs from the farm chickens. Wonderful!

In summary, we are in two minds whether to write this review as we would love to keep this a little secret to ourselves!
