Greeted with a friendly smile and placed at a table with lovely views out to the terrace.
We ordered our meal of Slow Braised Welsh Black Beef with blue cheese and truffle scented mash with vegetables. I had Herb Crusted Lamb loin with seared liver Gratin Potatoes roasted baby Vegetables and honey Jus - wow is all I can say - both meals were of top quality and flavour. The presentation was worth and award! And now I am hungry!!

Just got back from a fab weekend in The Royal Goat!! Friendly Staff, lovely food and pleasant atmosphere! Hugo and the staff were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble we thoroughly enjoyed.
There are a few updates required to the hotel but overall a 5star experience.
Thank you all for a very pleasant weekend and we have booked again for next year and bringing more friends along

We found the Goat just outside the main village after having no luck in finding a table in the pub or one of the other popular restaurants. Be warned to book a table if you plan on eating out in the village, this was a wet October Thursday night and it was tricky finding somewhere. When we walked into the Goat we were a little wary as it's a bit dated and not exactly cosy. But we were greeted by a friendly gent who showed us to a table and brought us drinks and a menu. The food was nicely presented, well cooked and tasty and the décor kind of grew on us as we got comfortable in our surroundings. The portions could have been a little more generous but they were adequate and we also enjoyed dessert. What seemed at the time as a 'make do' decision turned out to be a nice evening in a relaxed atmosphere away from the crowds.

On a short break, lovely village with plenty of walks for all levels,a steam train station also there, hotel was friendly straight away, room had a superb view along the valley, fresh food prepared was really good, clean and warm, although slightly dated in parts it’s part of the charm, veggie options on menu- just ask to tailor what you want, will go again.
