“Lovely Cottage”

Communication from Derek the owner is excellent. Very easy to book.
Easy to find, you can park directly outside to unload then just 100yrds approx you can park for free. We had no trouble parking.
Double glazed throughout. Very modern bathroom downstairs the underfloor heating is great in the morning, just a note to ladies ( or men) with long hair if you dont wash it everyday take a shower cap, great modern shower but cant escape it!

Kitchen is well equipped with all you need. Loved the Portmeirion crockery. The bespoke units & tiled worktops modern yet kept the character of the cottage.

Living area is cosy, log fire will be great in winter we didnt need it as storage heaters kept the temperature well. Flat screen TV. With freeview. BT wifi is great, very often wifi is advertised but rarely any good but this is!

Bedrooms are lovely, only used double which is situated at the back overlooking the garden with seating area & of the river. Opening the window in the morning to listen to the sound of the water was very relaxing. Beautifully decorated with little nic nacs & pictures gave it that homely feel. Really nice very clean bedlinen with a deep filled duvet.

Excellent location 1 minute walk to Prince Llewellyn Hotel. (Good free wifi) friendly welcome. (Let dogs in too)
few other pubs in the village too all very nice. Few shops. General store selling essential items.
No cash machine but there is a post office in the general store who do cash back. So thats handy. Few Small gift/ craft shops. Very good cafes too. Great ice cream parlour this is a must!

my only minor negative would be a bigger TV. However you get used to it.

Will definately book again

“Could be amazing but isn't”
Reviewed 10 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

I booked Clydfan Cottage because of it's amazing riverside location in beautiful Beddgelert and because of the other 5 star reviews. You can not detract from it's idyllic setting and Clydfan could be truly amazing but I'm afraid it falls short in a few fundamental areas. It is a traditional, cosy & compact holiday let but the overall cleanliness of the place is definitely not satisfactory, my bed linen was soiled and though the kitchen & bathroom appeared clean, the cottage was dusty all over, which made you feel slightly grubby. The kitchen appliances need updating too as at one point in the holiday whilst cooking tea the electricity fused and I had to stand on a kitchen chair to deal with an ancient & frankly dangerous looking fuse box, not good! Be aware also that the website photo's were obviously taken some time ago because sadly the cottage exterior needs a lick of paint and the lounge furniture & TV are different. On the plus side the garden is wonderful, the bathroom is nice & modern and the owners were helpful in resolving the issues. I hope the owners plan a scheme of modernisation works like in the neighbouring cottage because then Clydfan would be wow!

Regrettably the cottage on this occasion did not meet our high standard, the cleaners have been replaced with one that has an eye for detail. All the kitchen appliances are no older than 1 year.

“Perfect Charming Cottage in a Great Location”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 for a stay in October 2013

This is a late review but I am at last leaving one.
My hubby and I had a long weekend here last October and from start to finish it was perfect.
Regarding correspondence with the owner who e-mailed very promptly ,to payment and arrival details all of which were totally stress free.
Having arrived at this delightful cottage we were very happy. The back garden backs onto the river which was lovely. The cottage was extremely well equipped, very homely and cosy and spotlessly clean. It's a perfect location for the cafés and eateries in the village meaning you don't need to get your car out and perfect location for walking which we did.
When we return to stunning Snowdonia we will definitely be returning to this cottage

“Lovely cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 2 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Very clean, well-equipped and comfortably furnished cottage in Beddgelert. Well located for access to Moelwyn and Snowdon mountain ranges, and adjacent to a number of local village pubs serving food to end the day. Excellent.

“Gorgeous Cottage”

Lovely cottage and wonderful setting. Weather was good and able to use the patio furniture and fire was lovely on one damp evening. Compact but lovely.
