Just spent a couple of nights here....wish it could have been more! Colleen is such a lovely lady who works very hard at making you feel at home. Yes, the rooms are up smallish stairs but it is a Welsh cottage and easier to climb than Snowdon. We were in room 5 at the back of the property with twin beds, small ensuite, wardrobe, tea/coffee. The shower/toilet room is small but adequate for our needs and water pressure fine. Just outside our door was a door leading to a little seating area which overlooked Colleen's fantastic hill garden...just a shame it rained and did not get round to sitting out. Millie the dog would welcome us in the morning but well behaved and did as she was told bless her! Full English toast and heaps of coffee and tea to set us up for a day out walking. Thank you Colleen & Millie we will return.

Can't recommend this place enough - we were warmly welcomed and looked after all weekend! Comfortable and spotless rooms in a perfect location for exploring the area, and the nicest hostess Colleen who had great tips and advice to make sure everything ran smoothly.

This has become our preferred guest house in the village. We have stayed here a number of times now and are always bowled over by Colleen's welcome and her memory for the little things which make our stay complete. Nothing is too much trouble and we really couldn't ask for anything more. The highlight of our stays there probably has to be being able to see the fireworks from our bedroom window on New Year's Eve. However, we are most grateful for Colleen's solicitousness when my husband's father was in hospital at Glan Clwyd and our stay was extended again and again. She was so understanding about this at what was a difficult time.

Room Tip: The best room is No. 2

We were a group of six, Really felt at home here, Colleen the owner is very nice and easy going so we were made very welcome. Cosy dining room with an excellent full breakfast cooked by Colleen. Recommended great places to eat for us as well. Would recommend it as a good base for the area

Room Tip: Room at the front, overlooking the river room 2

In other circumstances, I might have had some qualms arriving here. The (single non-ensuite) room I was in was the most basic of those on offer and the furnishings in it had... well, let's say... a certain period charm!

But I immediately fell in love with the place, mostly thanks to Colleen, who was a truly wonderful host: generous, patient, helpful, welcoming, and able to cook an *exceedingly* good breakfast!

It's also in a marvellous location, right by the bridge in the middle of the village, with everything in easy reach. (I particularly recommend the Hebog cafe/restaurant just about three doors down.) And my room, despite the comments above, was very good value for money, with a great view right over the river. For three nights, I fell asleep and woke to the happy sound of bubbling water. And rain, of course. But fixing the weather was the only thing Colleen didn't manage to do to make my stay more enjoyable!

Really enjoyed my time here, and hope to come back, with my other half, one day in the future.
