Yes, this really is as good as all of the reviews.

Beddgelert is a great location for Snowdonia. The hotel is at the end of a quiet lane, a short distance from the centre of the village.

The rooms are quite compact, but well-equipped and immaculately clean.

The food is top class. We planned to eat at the hotel sometimes and elsewhere sometimes but, in the end, chose to eat at the hotel every evening apart from once (when we had a big lunch planned). Very unusual to find such good food at a relatively small establishment. Perfect breakfasts as well.

The service throughout was faultless.

We arrived at the hotel for a 4 night stay to celebrate my partner's birthday. The village of Bedgelert is quite quaint and we had to go over this amazing bridge where the river was bursting with life to get to the hotel. We were very excited about our discovery. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely young lady who was checked us in. We were directed to the room which was perfectly located. We had a standard double room which had everything you need.
We decided to try a restaurant/pub in the village rather than what was offered in the hotel restaurant. Out of the 4 we checked out neither looked appetising. We ate at one and to our dismay the food was terrible, what you expect from a takeaway.
We made to the morning and our spirits were lifted when we were greeted for breakfast. We had a hearty breakfast, served a la carte, no need to fetch anything, service provided from cereals, to juices, to a full Welsh breakfast. I have been to many top hotels and you still have to run around getting your own food. Service was excellent. So we were ready for our first walk.
After that we ended up dining for the rest of the stay. Why?
1. Food tasted delicious. I recommend the Welsh Lamb which my partner had 3 times running!
2. Yana, the waitress was absolutely marvellous, so were the other staff. Nothing was trouble. The service was excellent and all were very polite and friendly.
3. The location is perfect.

4. Kevin was a source of valuable information for things to do.

Will definitely come back.

Room tip: Our room was great.

We found the Bryn Eglwys nearby the village of Beddgelert . The host was very friendly and welcoming . He carried our luggage up the one flight of quite steep stairs to our comfortable bedroom overlooking beautiful Welsh countryside.
Breakfast was included in the price and it and the two dinners we had were excellent and beautifully presented and served.
Several of the other guests were on repeat visits and if we are in the area we will most certainly visit again.

Room tip: A room with a view!

Where do I start? If you are looking for a hotel in or around Beddgelert then stay here. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms, lounge and restaurant areas are very well furnished and decorated with style. The staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. When people work in places that are this good, they become confident and relaxed and that is the sign. Everybody here is confident with what they deliver.
For me, whilst checking in, Kevin, the owner of Bryn Eglwys, spotted my Triumph motorcycle belt buckle and we started talking Triumph. My main passions in life, after my lovely wife, have either two wheels or two wings. Kevin rides Triumph motorcycles and is an ex Fleet Air Arm pilot. Needless to say, we talked a bit!!
Kevin and Lyn have run the hotel for 18 years.
The location is ideal. Beddgelert is five minutes walk away but the hotel is secluded and private. You can walk into the village to eat but you won't want to after you have eaten at the hotel. The food is the equal of many top class London restaurants that we use. Try it, you'll be hooked.
We'll be back. Next time we visit North Wales, we will return to Bryn Eglwys. I can hardly wait.
