“Lovely cottage for a short break with the family.”
Reviewed 16 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Cottage was lovely and was presented well. The welcome pack left by the owner was a great start, meaning you can have a drink and a snack on arrival after a long journey. The cottage is set in a quiet part of the town, but within easy reach of the center and all the local attractions.

Charming cottage in the centre of town. Perfect home from home. So fully equipped we wanted for nothing. Clearly newly renovated to a high standard, loved the old beams and wood burner. Bedding and towels supplied. Comfy beds, sofas and out door seating. Chris, the lovely owner, supplied a fantastic high quality welcome pack which was full of local produce. Would recommend in an instant. Used Safe and Sound Outdoor activities for gorge walking, kayaking and bike rides - based in Llangollen, excellent company very professional. Cottage is 2 minutes from bars, restaurants and fabulous walks. Photos attached don't really do justice.

“A home away from home”
Reviewed 30 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This lovely cottage was loved and admired by all the family who stayed here over the week . Decorated and furnished with care ; attention to detail means that your comfort is assured .
Although only one minute from the bustling Castle Street , the cottage itself is peaceful and secluded . Llangollen's main attractions are within a short walking distance away. We would recommend it most highly to families everywhere and look forward to staying again .

“Idyllic Little Haven in a Quiet Corner of Llangollen”
Reviewed 18 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Brilliant location within walking distance of the shops, pubs and restaurants in the town centre, Godre Berwyn is an adorable cottage perfect for a quiet weekend get away! It is situated half way up a hill and the front garden has views over the town. There are plenty of beautiful walks just minutes away from the house, so it's a great base from which to explore the hills and countryside around. The interior is cosy, clean and beautifully decorated - feels like a home away from home! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Godre Berwyn to anyone looking for a break in North Wales.

“Great cottage in fantastic location”

As soon as I saw Godre Berwyn I knew I was going to love it.

Tucked onto the hillside a stone’s throw from the bustling centre of Llangollen, it is the picture of a quintessential Welsh cottage. Standing at the gate looking down the path towards the front door, you imagine very little has changed in the centuries since the cottage was built.

But once inside, every modern comfort is catered for – albeit in a way which does not lose any of the character of the cottage matured over hundreds of years.

I was staying for three night with my father, who has mobility issues, and the downstairs en suite double bedroom situated right next to the front door was perfect for his needs.

Upstairs there is another double bedroom, two good sized singles and a bathroom. And it is upstairs where the character of the cottage is most evident, where there are exposed wooden beams and charmingly uneven floors.

The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay and, despite the fact we were staying in the spring, I could imagine coming back in the depths of winter and curling up with a book next to the wood burning stove in the living room.

Another highlight is the small courtyard sitting area behind the house. Its whitewashed walls and Moroccan-style accessories transport you to a North African hideaway – perfect for a summer evening sip.

And there is more outside dining at the front, with another table to seat four – or six at a push – tucked away in a front garden nook.

We walked into town in less than five minutes so a pint on the terrace of the picturesque riverside Corn Mill pub – as well as all of Llangollen’s other eateries, watering holes, walks and attractions - are within easy reach.

The car parking space right at the house was a welcome addition, especially as I had heard Llangollen was a town where town centre parking spaces are at a premium.

All in all – a great place to stay which I would recommend to anyone.
