Found on Expedia a day or so before our visit for a price of £65. Didn’t expect much, but were amazed at the value for money we received. Just a few points;
•It’s great that there is parking, but it is very tight and there is often a need to block people in and leave car keys at the bar. Not a problem as such but a little inconvenient if in a hurry.
•I presumed that breakfast being included meant a cooked breakfast, however this is not the case. A continental(ish) breakfast is served consisting of toast, cereals, fruit, yoghurts and store bought pastries. Adequate and not a criticism, just something to be aware of.
•Room was fantastic. We stayed in room 11 at the very top of the building adjoining the wine bar. Comfortable beds, good en suite facilities, spacious room and fairly quiet even while the bar was open. No issues at all and lovely for a night away.
•Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Wine bar is very rustic and traces the history since it was founded in the 1970s. Glad they have kept to their roots and not updated too much as it brings a lovely feel to the place.
Would certainly stay here again without a second thought and have recommended to family already.More
