“Secluded location with great views and a local request halt on the Welsh Highland Railway.”
Reviewed 23 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The mile or so drive down a single track road was worth it for the great views across the Irish Sea and over to Anglesey as well. The location felt remote even though it's only about 4 miles from Caernarfon. The kids were able to play outside in total safety. The cottage itself is well presented, maintained and clean through out. It only has two bedrooms but both are quite large and the four of us didn't feel at all cramped especially given the outside space available. Best of all it was only a 2 mins walk down the drive to Tryfan Junction station on the Welsh Highland Railway. We travelled on the railway by waving down the train to stop at "our" station and requested that the train stopped for us on the way back. The train could also be seen passing by from the house itself. Being a rural location we had to contend with a 6am alarm call from the local cockerel. The downstairs ceilings are quite low so if you're well over 6ft tall you might be in danger of banging your head. Not a problem for anyone in my family.

“Fantastic”

Lovely well presented cottage nice and cosy accommodation, Had a great week with the family, Cottage is well located for exploring the local area ideal for those who like the outdoors, plenty of walking route to explore, with added bonus of the narrow gauge railway and the end of the drive what more could you ask for,

“charming cottage in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed 23 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

excellent place to stay, and also a good base for surrounding areas. Louise, the owner, was very friendly and helpful without being imposing at all. My grandson enjoyed feeding the chickens every morning with cornflakes, It was lovely watching the steam train from the welsh highland railway go past the bottom of the garden at various times of the day, all in all an idyllic holiday, we would all definitely return.

“Great cottage, with great scenery.”
Reviewed 24 October 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Our stay with Louise and Rosie was great. Lovely cottage, the way I hoped it was. All was clean and well equiped. We stayed with a family of 4, incl. 2 teens, for 1 week. Loved the surroundings and our trips. Climbed Mount Snowdon, horseback riding, spotted dolphins in Cardigan Bay, sea kayakking along the coast of Trearddur Bay, round trips by car. All was great. After day trip, it was always fine to return back home to the cottage.
