Description: The Black Boy Inn is a listed building which is situated in the historic town walls of the Royal Borough of Caernarfon. The Inn is within easy walking distance to the town centre, and the famous 13th-century Castle. An old Inn dating back to 1522 and with its wooden paneling, low ceilings, and thick wooden support beams generates a cosy 'Olde Worlde' Welsh atmosphere. The Black Boy is a very busy Inn; please do not expect it to be a slow laid back hotel. It is in the centre of the tourist hub of North Wales and long wait times can be norm in middle of summer. Come and visit us in the winter season for a more laid back feeling. We now also have Black Jacks, which is another renovated building in courtyard, at rear of Inn .Black Jacks is away from the hustle of the main Inn . All suites have small kitchen area.No lift in building. Some Ground floor rooms are easy access with walk in showers , 1st floor variety of rooms as is 2nd floor.we offer 24 hour staff attendance. When you stay in any country you must wish to stay in somewhere that reflects that country ,we certainly do majority of our staff are welsh speaking and so are the owners .Meal Times Sunday to Thursday: Noon until 9.00p.m. Friday and Saturday. Noon until 9.30p.m.Table reservations can be made via our web site only. We operate a table waiting system from the door at all times to keep the dining areas full. Waiting times can vary and an indication of any delay will be conveyed to you. Book a table online please.

We were fortunate enough to find a table for eight people while visiting Caenarfon. The black boy was able to seat us straight away! The menu was varied with a good choice and the quality of our meals was first class. This is a must visit if you are visiting.

We lucked out and a table of 6 just got available as we arrived. Waited in the bar wh was tiny quaint and full of character. Food was great - gd portions. Definitely better than a chain restaurant.

Lovely place so glad I chose to stay here room is very clean and tidy mine is a single room with beautiful oak beams. The breakfast is amazing great selection and almost everything you could want done is cooked to order as well as a lovely continental selection. The food in the bar is also really good pub grub nothing too fancy quality ingredients used. It is busy so advise booking g a table I was here alonexand happy to eat in the cost lounge bar. Next time I'm in the area I would definitely stay again. Staff also lovely helpful and friendly.

Went to eat with the in-laws during our holiday; it was a 1h+ wait and nowhere to really wait. Ordered drinks and quite a lot of food. Out of four drinks they got 2 right, and it took 3 servers to get us a pot of hot water (unusual request, but shouldn't take them until after starters to get it). Starters were really good, well worth it, the pate and mussels are recommended for anyone interested in that kind of food. For mains we had a burger, a steak (both really good) and two of their award winning fish and chips. The fish and chips were overcooked to the point that it crubled instead of flaking when you tried eating it. It was massive though, maybe that's what they got the reward for. All in all; I wouldn't go again.

The Inn does get very busy during holiday times especially. The crowded bars are what give it the real welsh character that has sustained us in many an Inn over the years. Please do try us again maybe at a quieter time. Thank you for the feedback.
