Owner description: Two nature reserves, a huge open field, busy countryside centre with award winning cafe and easy access from the city or the motorway, make this site very popular. There are two adventure play parks, ancient woodlands to explore and space to fly a kite or have a game of rounders. During school holidays you'll find a timetable of events to keep children entertained, which include jewellery making, sports sessions and arts and crafts. Two waymarked trails occupy the park if you fancy a stroll, one through the beautiful and colourful meadows and the other through the shaded woods. The park has an orienteering course and geocache for those on a quest. A popular place for families, where young and old can get together, maybe enjoy a summer BBQ or picnic or just take in the friendly environment that awaits you. Dogs welcome.

Children of all ages can play together as the park is more than enough to keep them occupied. A younger section that is fenced off with slides, swings and climbing things. The other side is made for older children with a tyre swing, swings on long chains so you can swing high if your fearless, wooden climbing frame with cargo net, roundabout and a bumpy slide. There is a large field with mounds to roll down too. Yesterday saw free sports activities provided on the field. For a few quid, there is crazy golf, bouncy castle & small train in a fenced area. The woodland is well managed & there is also a chance to participate in an Easter trail with a prize at the end. The cafe serves lovely, homemade, quality food and cakes at a decent price with quick & efficient service. It also has a little play corner. Plenty of seating outside too. Toilet facilities are provided & a tap with short hose to wash wellies/ dog. Oh and the parking is FREE !

1st time I have visited this park, what a little gem. Money spent well revitalising this area. Lots of fabulous walks for dogs, plenty of activities for the kids. Whilst we were there a group was on the field doing lots of various sporting activities for kids plus there is an adventure playground with lots of choice for little ones up to 15 year olds. In the woods are nature trails and animal spotter trails. We had lunch at the cafe, and wow veggie and vegan choice aplenty fantastic food, lovely friendly staff and reasonable prices. Definitely recommend for a family day out. Oh free parking too

The Country side centre is essentially a largish wooded area for walking in/setting trails for kids. An excellent café serving a variety of non alcoholic drinks, snacks, cakes, small meals and a full breakfast (and WCs). Adjacent to the café are kids play areas, picnic tables, a very large playing field and short country walks through adjacent fields which on occasions feature rare breed cattle. There is a communal barbeque which can be hired for summer evenings and during the school holidays and weekends various paid attractions appear such as a mini train, bouncy castle. There is a large free car park but it gets busy in the summer. Its easy to loose half a day or more here
