Visited Evesham and had an early evening walk down to the river. What a beautiful river full of ducks and swans. There is a really pleasant walk along the side of the river if you cross the bridge from the shopping centre with plenty of benches to take a break. Lovely and peaceful and there are river trips during the day. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The best places to enjoy Shakespeare's River Avon is the stretch from Evesham to Stratford, best at Evesham.
As a kid I used to come to this part of the Avon, even though we lived in Stratford. The river is wide and slow moving, especially on a summer's day, or night. There's a few water lilies on the town stretch, hiding the big, strong carp and chub from the eyes of the public. You need to be a very good angler to ever get a sight of one of these on your hook!
You can rent a rowing boat locally, and explore the quiet, secret waters of the Avon at your leisure. Or get a ride on one of the tourist boats with the others, and learn about the river and the town.
Whatever you decide to do to enjoy the Avon, do it quietly, don't disturb the tranquility of Evesham's most beautiful asset.

What a nice time my sisters and I had walking along the River Avon within walking distance from the Market Square, Citi Centre, passing lots of river boats, people with children and lots of good places to eat at. We got to meet some really fine people as well that were willing to share a bit of history with us. Love to come back and go for a boat ride.

Lovely park for any age and just a few steps from the town centre. I was sad that the whale bone had been removed for safety reasons having taken children and then years later grandchildren to see it.
