Third visit to The Old Grocery, as Broadway is central to so many delightful villages and gardens, and is such a lovely place itself with great shops, galleries and places to eat. The cottage is comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. We love it!
We visited the old grocery this week for 3 nights with 2 other couples. Broadway is a very charming village with a very nice feel. Lots of good places to eat and drink with Russell’s restaurant the star performer although the meal we had at the Lygon hotel was a very close 2nd.
There are lots of lovely village around with stow on the wold , Moreton-in-Marsh and Bourton-on-the-Water all a must
The old grocery is well equipped and accommodated 6 people adequately although the property is probably ready for a little TLC. Nothing major .... just quite a few little scuff marks , wet marks on the cushions for the outside furniture etc,,,
All in all though a great place to stay and a great base to explore the Cotswolds
3 couples in our late fifties stayed in The Old Grocery at Broadway for 6 nights late September. Broadway is in the top end of the Cotswolds in a wonderfully idyllic region. The Old Grocery has 3 good size bedrooms all ensuited, very comfortable and quiet location. Only 5 mins down the high street to the main village where you have many lovely places to eat. There is a supermarket, pharmacy, tourist info and many nice shops. Broadway isn't far from many other historic and beautiful villages. Not just a wonderful place to holiday, you could live here very easily. Absolutely recommend Broadway and The Old Grocery.
Another lovely visit to Broadway - the cottage was comfortable, clean and quiet. Broadway is a really good base for visiting the gorgeous gardens and villages in the area. The Old Grocery is a short walk from many great places to eat and lovely shops and galleries. Perfect for us as three friends enjoying a peaceful and enjoyable break.
