My girlfriend and I wanted a relaxing weekend in the countryside. The Old Piggery at Cools Farm was perfect. It is a self catering outbuilding next to the main farm. It was very cosy and had character. It even had a woodburner but as we were staying in June we didn't need to use it, and although the place was nice and warm, there is an electric heater for chilly evenings.
There are patio doors to the back that open onto a small patio area that has a table chairs. In front of the patio is a small lawn/garden that then opens out on to fields, rolling hills and countryside. It is so relaxing and peaceful. As the farm is a working farm, the cows frequently visit boundary of the garden and the occasional chicken or cockeral wanders into the garden, all contributing to this countryside experience.
The accommodation has a well equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher. The bathroom is small but has a decent shower. Just make sure you have enough hotwater for shower if using the dishwasher.
The owners are very friendly, polite and welcoming. Thank you Quentin and Maggie.
I would definitely go there again.

We stayed at the Old Piggery just before Christmas 2013 and loved it to bits. The cottage is situated in the grounds of the farmhouse at Cools Farm, which is miles from anywhere. Just views of rolling countryside, woods and wildlife all around.
The cottage is well-appointed, modern and very comfortable for two. It has a practical kitchen with everything you need and open-plan living room featuring a wood burner to keep the place toasty-warm in winter (plenty of logs are available - just takes a bit of practice to keep it going!!).
Great location too - Stonehenge and Salisbury are a short drive and Bath only takes about an hour door-to-door. Maggie made us very welcome; nothing was too much trouble and we would have stayed longer if we could, so if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here again.
