Description: The Blacksmiths is a newly renovated pub with rooms situated on the outskirts of the historical city of Chichester in the old village of Donnington. Restored in a relaxed and comfortable style with a few quirky twists, guests can enjoy the blazing fire and homely charm of the anvil bar or the snug elegance of the dining room. There are also three uniquely furnished double bedrooms and a large garden area with outdoor seating, fire pits and our own herb and salad garden. Children will also love visiting the chickens, which supply all our eggs. Located close to the Chichester canal towpath, The Blacksmiths is a perfect stop off point for a refreshing pint, or perhaps an extended afternoon on the terrace. Whether you are visiting by bike, boot or boat - we look forward to welcoming you.

Really lovely trendy pub with a beautiful garden just outside Chichester. We debated whether to stay safe and order the chicken or beef burger but decided upon the Roast Beef as it was Bank Holiday Monday. Sadly the meat was very chewy, the yorkshire pudding lightweight without enough egg added sadly and the choice of veg appealing to look at but all the cauliflower, carrot and potatoes lacked any flavour ... bizarre. Such a shame as our last visit was very positive and we loved our burgers. Didn't stay for dessert.

I like the vibe and the decor, I like the sheepskins on the seats, the staff are friendly and always nice, I like the menu choices, the other customers are decent people, the food is well cooked and the ingredients good quality. I like the beer, I like it here.

We had a very nice evening. The food was good but the menu was a bit limited, unless you wanted a burger where you had a choice of 3!!!!. The service was good and the food was reasonably priced. Overall rating 7/10.

We had some friends visiting, so we took them to The Blacksmiths.

Booked for 8pm, arrived just before 8pm and were politely greeted by one of the staff members. We were asked if we like a drink in the bar or just go straight to the table, we choose the latter.

We ordered some drinks and perused the menu. Eventually deciding on the following food for our starters:
Fish cakes, risotto, salmon & selsey crab.

The main courses were difficult to choose as it all looked very enticing and knowing from last time, my wife had the sea bream which was excellent.

This time we ordered 3 sea bream and a chicken breast with veg.

All 4 of us also decided to have pudding; Cheese selection, 2 x chocolate brownie and a lemon posset.

All the food was excellent and the service was with a smile.

Great evening and one of the better restaurant around.
