The best steak I have ever had! The restaurant upstairs is lovely, downstairs is much more relaxed and with a few drinkers. The Sunday lunch also looked amazing, defo worth it, food was better than any chained restaurant!

As a PA I booked the Artisan for a Corporate Dinner, we were entertaining our Swedish business contacts. I have received nothing but praise this morning from my colleagues for the establishment and the food. Hotels, Theatre and a large public car all within a 2 minute walk.

Thank you the Artisan :)

The staff were pleasant and obliging, but it is a restaurant serving traditional English Sunday lunch according to the bill boards.Sorry but the food was not traditional the Sunday Lunch menu was very modern and quality of meal could be improved. It was a booking for 11. The price was very reasonable and the wine was good. Tourist might be disappointed at the food if wanting a typical Sunday lunch, which is usually roast sliced meat, two fresh veg, mash/boiled potatoes plus roast potatoes and other trimmings. Portions were fair. This restaurant is not child or disability freindly.

Popped in for drinks with friends. Nice atmosphere & lovely staff and service. Quaint decor and secluded smoking area. Will definitely visit again.

The food is excellent along with fantastic staff. The 'homemade' pea and ham soup is to die for. I would recommend anybody looking for a great meal in pleasant surroundings to visit. The conservatory is an ideal venue for private functions. Staff are friendly and superb.
Really great experience.
