Went here on a sunday evening with partner. We both ordered the pies and they were the best we have both tasted. I had stilton and beef which was amazing and she had pork with apple cider, she also claimed it was amazing.

The setting of the pub is friendly freindly and feels homely.

Will definately be returning for more.

Fabulous staff, amazing food and all in walking distance from home!

It’s a busy place but that doesn’t distract the staff from great service

Friday night at The Greyhound is fish n chip night. The marquee is out in the back garden. Food is great...near takeaway prices and portions are huge! Lee singing Friday was superb Well worth a return visit.

A year ago, we were just about to buy a share in a narrow boat, Minuet, and were taken here by two of the other owners after viewing her, for a quick pint and bag of crisps. We watched several boats manoeuvring through the tricky junction outside the pub. So, when we were out for our second trip, heading for the Ashby Canal, we phoned ahead and booked a 1pm table ( we were offered 1pm or 4:45, which is evidence of how popular the pub is). We moored up at 12:55 - the pub was full of happy people, the log fires were roaring and the dining room was rammed. We were shown upstairs to the Coventry Room, a very nicely-furnished place with unobstrusive canned music (70s and 80s favourites).

The Roast choices were a little disappointing, just Beef or Ham (Ham?!), I was hoping for Lamb - but the Beef was great, done with just the right pinkness, on a bed of real steamed veg, cheesy cauliflower and roast potatoes with a brilliant gravy (could have done with an extra jug of this), topped with a giant fluffy Yorkie.

The service was great (except for being called ‘guys’... why do they do that?)

After a lovely hour and a half, and feeling really full after a great lunch, we sat outside the pub for a while looking at the junction and deciding how we would tackle it the next morning.

Maybe it was The Greyhound’s inspiration, but I reckon I scored 9 out of 10 for manoeuvring (I took it too slowly, possibly!)

Visited the restaurant for a Family Birthday - The food and service was great and the general atmosphere is perfect regardless of what time you decide to eat here. The variety and quality of the beer served here is second to none and I would highly recommend this venue to anybody looking to try somewhere new.
