The food, staff and surroundings are excellent but there is one draw back when booking for Sunday Lunch - afternoon tea parties especially large groups! Yesterday to our horror a Wedding Shower of over 10 ladies with a toddler and screaming baby were being served afternoon tea and this was at 1.00 p.m There were at least another 4 tables having afternoon tea whilst we had booked the Sunday Lunch menu which was excellent.
Last time we visited there was a baby shower and again the women were noisy. I have no objection to mixing the two even though I personally would not like afternoon tea at lunch time but when having large groups of women do feel the hotel should consider the other guests and maybe use another room. My Mother found the noise which seemed to echo throughout the dining area very unpleasant and reduced the amount of conversation we could have with her because she struggled to hear us.
