This was my worst ever hotel experience, and I have had many, good and bad. Do not stay at this hotel unless you are a complete insomniac or very hard of hearing. The sound insulation between rooms is virtually none existent, it sounded as if the guy in the room next to mine was actually in my room. He and his companion came in at 12:00 then stayed up until 1:00am then got up at 5:00am to go to work at 6:30am. Between times he got up every half hour to visit the bathroom. What people do in their hotel rooms is their business but people in the next room should not be able to hear their every move. His bed or head board were so creaky it was impossible to sleep through. I can only liken the noise to a perpetual whoopee cushion or that of a very fat person trying to squeeze into a very small leather chair. If I could have left and gone anywhere else I would have done so but at midnight your options are limited.

Room Tip: avoid the hotel

Stayed here last weekend for 2 nights with family. Often stay on the Hagley Road for visits to Edgbaston Cricket. First time here , but won`t be rushing back. Given it is a budget hotel which probably started off as a Motel, it has viewed in terms of the price asked. In that respect I have given 3 stars, but in reality that is generous. This is definitely not up to Premier Inn standard. If they could get the room decor up to standard that would be a start, definitely a throw back to 1970s. It did not exceed my expectations. We paid for breakfast , expecting the usual self-service buffet type , due to the fact there was a self-service range in the dining area. However that wasn`t used , they cooked to order. That sounds fine , but on the second day it took over an hour to get served and fed. Always a problem when you only have one serving staff, who was understandably getting frayed at the edges. The food was obviously stuck under a heater for ages, the egg (singular) was like a frissbee. The toast arrived late, and had one solitary cup of coffee. Budget is fine , but that was poor under any standard.

Room was OK but in need of a refurb. The staff on reception and in the breakfast room were run off their feet and there were quite a few disgruntled customers. We were disturbed in the night by some very noisy and unpleasant guests and we were unable to reach reception by phone to complain. Although the price of he room was reasonable and it was good to have free parking so close to the centre of the city I would not stay there again

Room Tip: I would not stay here again

Stayed for 1 night on my own and it felt a bit creepy going up stairs and down long corridors in the accommodation block, I'm not normally nervous. It's a funny place, a bit Bates Motel, I was waiting for the tumbleweed to blow through. The public areas are tatty especially the corridors which are really grubby. The room itself was clean and functional and the breakfast was not bad but I wouldn't stay here again, I'd rather pay a bit more and get something which felt better.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

Not like a hotel but a block of social welfare flats. Room basic but clean but that's the only positive comment I can make. I didn't feel safe. A lot going on outside rooms during the night and around 4 am boom box music started and was horrific. So noisy, so loud and the bass could be felt. No phone in the room and too scared to go out and over to reception to complain. When I mentioned it the next morning there was a lack of concern. The £100 deposit was a surprise too. A really inhospitable receptionist didn't do much for customer relations either. I'd avoid it even though it was cheap. Not worth the hassle
