So much more intimate than the other larger Birmingham theatres. Quaint, in a slightly shabby chic sort of way, the staff are really friendly and helpful - last year we had to return tickets at very short notice due to a death in the family; no problem, money was refunded in full.

We came to see the Christmas Wassail; brilliant singing and story-telling by a very talented group of people, preceded by a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie included in the cost of the ticket.

Too late now for this Christmas, but get your tickets for next year.

As usual it was a fantastic production even though the performers seemed less in numbers this year.
There’s one problem, the seats are so uncomfortable. You have no option but to sit with your knees at 90 degree angle so for me who is unable to bend her knee I had no option but to take off my shoes and try and sit sideways... very cosy with the person next to me.
There were some tall men who looked most awkward.
Come on Crescent Theatre, you put on great productions but you really must update your seating inline with the other theatres in Birmingham.
If you are tall or have difficulty bending your knees this is NOT the theatre for you.

Tucked away behind Broad Street is this lovely little independent theatre. Saw a brilliant production of Hobson's Choice here on Saturday evening. Booking process was very easy online and the admin and postage charges were very reasonable, with the tickets arriving in just a few days. There is only a very small foyer, but there is a light and airy bar upstairs. Staff are friendly and efficient. The closest car park is the multistorey at Brindley Place, but if you can walk for 10 minutes, the multi storey car park at Fiveways is much cheaper and equally secure.

Our first visit, though we have used the nearby multi-story car park in Brindley Place many times. Never realised the theatre was next door! And that it put on such good productions We watched a packed Macbeth on Friday night and it was the best amateur production we have ever seen. The inclusion of an 'after dark' conversation with the cast, director and technical staff was worthy of a professional company. We had seats in row F and the view was great. Seats were comfortable. The bar was busy, yet there was room to stand. Selection of drinks available was good e.g. there were at least 6 different gins to choose from as well as a choice of snacks. Programme was well produced and for a £1 was good value. Highly recommended.

We went here for a touring film show. The entrance is small and the bar area wasn't open so there were a few people waiting inside the entrance which was getting crowded. We then got let through to go up to the bar area where there was more seating, a couple of sofas and a few tables and chairs. There is pop corn for sale and alcohol drinks.

After quite a wait waiting we were let in to the 'main house' theatre, the seats we quite comfy but the leg room was really poor it was about the same as you get on a plane which isn't good if you have to sit for a long time which you generally have to.

The place seemed clean, the toilets seemed clean as well, the staff were friendly. The location is quite good and easy to get to, not overly far from the mailbox etc.
