Stayed here for my cousins wedding in April, was over the moon when we walked in to the lodge. Beautiful lodge, well cleaned and looked after. Private garden & hot tub. We loved it & are returning in August!

Would recommend to anyone!

“Very peaceful”
Reviewed 31 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We had a lovely weekend break. Only ventured to the local store and back again but even that was a lovely stroll. We were amazed how quiet the area is which is great when you want a break. The lodge certainly is as described on the website. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Having Netflix was an added bonus for the evening. Outside garden and hot tub are lovely to sit with good furniture - the garden is quite a sun trap. Generous amount towels left for the stay.

“Birch Lodge- lovely space, relaxing break with nice bonus of hot tub”
Reviewed 23 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Birch lodge- almost brand new, immaculately clean, well designed relaxing space with lovely thoughtful touches from the owners like tea, coffee machine, milk, biscuits and fresh flowers. There is a large decked area to be enjoyed if the weather is good with the extra bonus of a hot tub in a very private enclosed garden. We enjoyed a nice walk in Thetford Forest and a visit to Ickworth House ( National Trust Property near Bury St Edmonds) and the market town of Diss.
The owner informed us that there is triple glazing and extra insulation to make it comfortable in the Winter however we were lucky to have great weather during our stay. It's in a rural area on the outskirts of a village so I imagine it would be difficult to visit without a car for transport. Highly recommended for a relaxing retreat. (P.S Tip -take some dish washer tabs - no need to wash up on holiday!)

Birch lodge is our newest of three lodges, with different decor to the first two, so we're glad you liked it. We'll also add some dishwasher tablets though! Thanks.

“As relaxing as it gets”
Reviewed 4 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This was our second stay at Upthorpe Lodges having stayed in Oak lodge last year. This lodge lives up to the same high standards with the advantage of a hot tub. The lodges are clean, spacious, modern and equipped with everything you will need for a home from home relaxing break. The owners Ian & Debbie are very friendly and are on hand should you need them. The welcome goodies were really appreciated. The lodge is well located for visiting many places in a relatively short drive including Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge or several coastal resorts. If you need a relaxing break from the rat race then don't hesitate, get booking. Hope to be back soon to maybe test out lodge number 3 'Birch'.
