The venue was The Apex, which is a modern large venue with plenty of reception and bar space. The auditorium has excellent acoustics and seating which is suitably spaced allowing full view of the stage. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Parking within a minute or two walk and plenty of restaurants nearby.

28th September 2018 - The Illegal Eagles
This was our second time seeing this band. Excellent performers and musicians who recreate the sound of the Eagles, completely doing it justice. The whole band know their craft with many of the band playing a number of instruments, taking turn to lead the vocals as well as providing backing harmonies.
There is a great banter on stage between the band, which spills over into the audience - all part of the enjoyment and experience of the evening. Can't wait to see these guys again.
Shout out to the band: Trev Newman (Bass & Vocals); Christian Phillips (Guitar & Vocals); Greg Webb (Guitar & Vocals); Mike Baker (Guitar & Vocals); Garreth Hicklin (Keys & Vocals) and Tony Kiley (Drums).

28th October 2018 - The UK Beach Boys
Oh dear. The best thing about this performance was the lighting and stage setting. It looked the part but the band couldn't live up to the vocals or musicianship of the originals. Too many bum notes both musically and vocally - even the keyboard was played out of tune at times, with the falsetto vocals just piercing instead of the smooth sound it should have been. Band members were Ben Whiston (lead guitarist & vocals) Ian Baker (keyboard & vocals) Paul Johnson (Bass & backing vocals) and Dacre Peck (Drums & vocals).
After hearing two of our favourite Beach Boys songs (Wouldn't it be Nice and God Only Knows) being murdered on stage we left at half time.

And the winners are ......

I go to The Apex regularly to see a lots if the shows that are put on, it's a lovely venue and you can see some well known artists without having to go in to London. I've already booked for a Frankie Vallii tribute show next February, The Ballroom Boys with Ian Waite and Vincent Simone in May and a Bee Gees tribute in October 2019. That's how popular the shows are that you need to book well ahead and the evening with Ben Fogle with is next year has already been completely sold out.

The Apex is very modern by comparison with our other Theatre.(that's the Theatre Royal). As Toni S's review said, because it's more modern it hasn't developed an "atmosphere" yet.
Having been to shows in both theatres, (and "appearing" three times at the Royal), I find the Apex to be a totally different experience. Wonderful seating, great view of the stage, relaxing, ample space, airy and "weightless" because of the "entertainment" space, light wood used for seating, acoustically great, spacious foyer, clean "washrooms". A bit expensive for food and drink.
I admit that we have always chosen the "stalls" for seating so maybe "upstairs" is as other people have said.
We feel lucky to have the choice of theatres in a "Town" (We ought to be a City).

I have seen quite a few bands here and while the acoustics are great the venue has no atmosphere at all. Maybe because it's fairly new, maybe it's the way it's built but when you're used to seeing bands in London venues of the same size that have years of musical history the Apex just feels soulless and has little atmosphere.
On a positive note the staff are very friendly and professional and the little cafe sells good latte. Best enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by.

We were here for Joanne Shaw Taylor gig. We opted for seats in the lower balcony rather than standing in the stalls, although seating is often provided in the stalls for other performances. Excellent view and good acoustics.

The Apex is a very modern venue with plenty of space in the bar and front of house areas. A brilliant facility for a relatively small town. We'll be coming back.

Good venue on the whole, but did feel a little cramped just having the gallery for stands. A very welcoming atmosphere however and helpful staff. Queuing for tickets was not an issue as staff on desk were efficient and several lines were open. Although I did not use the coffee shop it seemed to be popular with seating both inside and out. Everywhere was very clean, bright and well kept.

The Apex provides an excellent facility for not only putting on plays, music etc. It also acts as a central meeting place for locals and tourists alike. There is a small but friendly cafe in addition to the restaurant upstairs and the reception desk has details of all upcoming events as well as details/maps of Bury's local amenities. The Apex is an excellent location within the centre of the town. Highly recommended.

We came here to watch Whitney Queen of the Night & everything from the exceptional level of customer care delivered, from the great views & incredibly comfortable seats would ensure that I attend more concerts & shows here.

We popped into The Apex coffee shop for a quick bite to eat whilst at The Arc shopping centre. This was our first visit to the coffee shop. We had a coffee and slice of cake which were both very nice and we found it very relaxing sitting outside in the sunshine. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Apex events venue also holds numerous shows throughout the year so plenty of entertainment for everyone.
