“Ideal!”
Reviewed 18 January 2012

We stayed for one night in the "red room". Mike met us at our car and took our bags inside. We were shown to our room and adjoining lounge with log fire where we had tea and delicious homemade scones with clotted cream.

Champagne and strawberries had been requested in our room when we arrived, these were chilled and beautifully presented on ice.

Mike happily made recommendations for dinner and even went as call the restaurant to reserve a table and arrange transport there and back.

The breakfast the next morning was glorious! Christine asked upon our arrival what time we wanted it and a selection of muesli, fruits, yogurt and fresh juices were laid out whilst Christine offered a variety of speciality coffees and cooked breakfast choices from Full English (using local produce) to American pancakes with fruit. This was enjoyed overlooking the vast gardens and fields.

Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Mike and Christine have a talent of making you want to return as soon as you leave, if only to see how their beautiful house and gardens change as each season passes.

We like to ensure that each and everyone who comes here enjoys there stay, reading your lovely review makes me think I might like to book in myself!
Seriously we were pleased to arrange the champagne on your behalf and home made scones have become so popular that Christine is always cooking new batches.
We are delighted that you chose to come here and look forward to you returning.

Best wishes

Wonderfull just does not do this place justice, it really is the best B&B I have ever stayed, from the moment you arrive to when you leave Michael & Christine really do look after you, the rooms are great, the breakfast was fantastic, I was in the area for on a weeks training course, each evening I was welcomed back with a tray of tea and cakes and a log fire.
Michael would make a point of coming to have a quick chat and ask how my day had been.
I have another course in April, where will I be staying, Drinkstone without question.
My only regret was not being able to explore the gardens as it was dark when I left and dark when I got back.
A BIG BIG thanks to Micheal ands Christine and I look forward to staying again.

Have no regrets John, you are back in April and will be able to explore the gardens to your hearts content. No fire this time (I hope) as it should be warm enough but we will still ensure you get your pot of tea with home made scone or cake.

We look forward to seeing you.

Best wishes

We had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights over New Years. Michael and Christine could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfasts were outstanding.
By far the best B&B I've stayed in and we will be looking for an excuse to stay again.
Thank you

I only had the pleasure of staying for one night, but it was certainly a comfortable one. This is easily the best B&B i've ever stayed at with one of the finest breakfasts. Cant wait to come back in Feb. Great value too!

We stayed one night in November and were greeted with a tray of tea, lemon cake and a log fire - what a perfect start! The grounds of the house are stunning, you must go outside at night and look at all the stars, we have never seen so many!
The house is warm and inviting and the owners, Michael and Christine are very welcoming and hospitable. Michael helped us with directions to a pub we had booked dinner at, and I think we may have been a little lost without them - thank you!
The Red Room is really lovely, annexed off the main lounge on its own, really well set up with everything you need and a fantastic view of the gardens.
Breakfast was amazing - a real treat. We both had the full english and it was cooked really well with plenty of choice and lots of nice local options (e.g. eggs and juice) and lovely homely feel round the table. We would happily stay again!

Room Tip: The Red Room is on the ground floor, has wonderful garden views and en-suite shower room.
