We didn't even stay. Walked in, found out a standard room ment allocate on arrival. Me and my husband were allocated 2 single beds. Apparently the hotel was full. Went to the room which was outdated and need of modernising. It felt and looked cold. I decided to look up the hotel in regards to it apparently being sold out. The official website showed double rooms and an executive room as being available, and also on booking. com it showed plenty of rooms available. I rang up and asked if we could pay to get swapped seems as it says they have room. This is where I was informed it was standard practice to oversell the hotel due to no shows!! There were still no double rooms available only this twin room. Then I asked about the supposed spare executive room that was available only to be informed that that room didn't even exist.

I decided at this point to I didn't want to stay in the hotel any more as personally found that appauling standard or not.

We went to reception to state we would be leaving no one even bothered to ask why or what the problem was.

Ended up at premier Inn for cheaper. Nicer hotel and we got a double bed.

So heads up, don't expect to get the room you book and don't even expect to get a room at all of they are over selling.

Arrived at the hotel at 2.30pm and was told check in wasn't until 3pm but the room still may not be ready then so to come back after 3pm and ask......when we went back at 3.30pm the receptionist took a short while to find out if our room was ready and when I queried the 3pm check in she said they were short staffed so running behind.
The room was sufficient, smaller bed than usual but still a double so fine.
Breakfast was an absolute shambles, we were told at check in we would need to collect a grab and go bag which was fine, but the next morning the girl at the desk for the bags said it had all gone to pot, they had ran out of croissants and bacon and had let everyone into the breakfast area because it got so busy, which meant there were a lot of people in a confined space touching everything like a normal breakfast buffet - not ideal generally but especially not with the current corona virus issue. We went into the area to look and there was cereal and milk only, and busy, so we left it and paid for breakfast again elsewhere.
Location is good for the journey home as you are literally on the a50.
