“Comforts of home”
Reviewed 28 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We found this beautiful house as my son and I were organising our move in to Wells. We stayed over 2 weeks and it made a stressful time into a new area more relaxed and comfortable. Tom replied to all my communication promptly. Given a short notice, I couldn't ask for a better way to have my queries entertained all the way to showing me around the property.

Silver street is home away from home. Perhaps, it may even be better than other homes . Everything is well thought of in furnishing and decorating this house down to little details. We are vegans so cooking is essential for us. I loved every minute spent and every meal I cooked in this house's kitchen. There is nothing to want for. The welcome pack is a kind gesture too.

My teen son loved the heated bathroom floor so much with its unique blue lights. Guests can enjoy a very relaxing bath. Wifi worked all the time in great speed. All the beds and linens are so comfortably provided.

Room sizes are generous so are the kitchen and living space. Heating is superb and cosy and all done via a remote thermostat. Decors are tastefully put together.

The location is perfect too. Morisson supermarket is literally right across the property and the High street is about 5 minutes walk away. Don't miss Well's Wednesday and Saturday markets. The bus station , cinema and Tesco are also very short distance walk away.

My son and I were sad to say good bye to this house in Silver Street. We probably won't be able to replicate the comforts it offers in our new rental house.

Thank you Tom for having us. I would give our stay in Silver Street a 5 star and recommend this holiday rental to people visiting Wells.

“lovely cottage in good location”

We stayed here for a week with family and appreciated the kind welcome pack; it was a well-equipped base to explore the area. Wells is a picturesque little place (small market town but officially a city) with plenty of walks and interesting places to visit nearby such as Glastonbury Abbey/Tor, Bath, etc. We loved the friendly atmosphere of the area and will definitely be back for another look.

The cottage has three bedrooms and comfortably sleeps six. It has a cosy feel and would be lovely in winter too. The private courtyard garden is a sun trap and we were fortunate to have the sun shine most of the week so we made good use of the outside settees. The location is quiet with parking on the road outside; we had no problems finding a space nearby. It was great to be able to open the door and walk 5 minutes to the centre where the shops, cathedral and Bishop's palace are. The kitchen has plenty of crockery/ equipment with big table to eat at.

Only very minor quibbles are lack of storage in twin bedroom (there is a cupboard on the landing) and that the bathroom could do with a lock. We couldn't initially locate the wifi (in the coat cupboard into hall) but Tom was helpful and replied quickly to a query. We had a lovely time and have no hesitation in recommending this cottage!

Liked best: great location and well equipped.
Liked least: bath needs resealing and a shower curtain as shower is strong (which is good) but sprays around room, despite the screen which only covers one side.

“Perfect Cottage in Wells”

This cottage was perfect - well equipped, clean and comfortable. The owners left a lovely and very generous welcome pack which was really appreciated. So much to do in Wells and it was lovely to return to the cottage after a day out. Parking didn't cause a problem as it can do in Wells and it was lovely to have a supermarket within walking distance. It was quiet, comfortable and we would definitely return. Thank you.

“Well located and fitted out.”
Reviewed 16 September 2015 for a stay in September 2014

This cottage is very well located on a quiet road, yet within a few minutes walk of the city centre. There is a large supermarket within 2 minutes walk, as Silver Street is at the back of the car park. Parking is often limited on the road in front, but a space can usually be found up the road, a couple of minutes walk away, and it is possible to 'hover' outside, to drop luggage or shopping. Inside, the kitchen is modern and well equipped and the lounge light and airy. We stayed in late autumn, so didn't use the courtyard garden, but in the summer it would be great for evening drinks. We would thoroughly recommend the cottage for a short break or longer stay in Wells.
