This small café is centrally located near Pulteney Bridge. The food is fresh and full of flavour although a little on the expensive side.

Our visits to Bath usually coincide with sunny weather and lots of tourists, i.e. it is crowded. On our most recent visit, midweek and late morning (April Wed 13th), we enjoyed some exceedingly pleasant weather and, selfishly for us, the added bonus of a noticeable lack of tourists.

Looking for coffee and cake, we considered a number of places (some we had previously visited) but came across the Blue Quail on our unplanned wanderings. From the outside it looks small but inviting, and there were customers inside that looked as though they might be regulars.

We had some good coffee and cake, pleasantly served by some interesting staff; very enjoyable.

The establishment is conveniently located, not large (far from it), and is set up to provide above average takeaways as well as eat ins. We suspect that it can get very busy so, if you can, it may be best to avoid prime lunchtime.

Over the school holidays popped in for cake and coffee. Excellent menu, and will have to call in again, because they looked very tasty. Only had time for Coffee and Cake, whilst everything was very nice, but felt under pressure because of the very small size of the café. It appeared to be the end of a very long day, and the staff seemed very tired. But when we are in Bath, we will call in again.

Came here on a recommendation. The food was really nice and came promptly. Reasonably priced. Came here for breakfast. A few regulars in there which is a good sign.

Told after we sat down that they could only do fried eggs. Not sure why.

Tables are quite small and very close to one another, so seems very squashed.

Amazing food and Peter was so enthusiastic about his cooking! The mixed salad and Middle Eastern shepherds pie were incredible.
