The house was well equipped with essentials but the decor was definitely more designed for a girly hen party rather than our perhaps slightly more traditional tastes. Though there were many nice prints of Bath in the reception areas, mirror framed pictures of high heels and corsets, Marylin Monroe etc.. we're the order of the day in the bedrooms. The furniture was similarly a strange mix of mock Georgian and pure kitsch.Though there were TVs in every room, there were absolutely no books in the entire house. The WiFi hub was in the cellar and provided very poor reception on the two lower floors but no reception at all on the upper floorsThere were lots of 'feature' clocks ( none of them old) but not a single one was working as no one had bothered to change the batteries. The dining room was very peculiar indeed with fold up office/school tables covered in extremely somber black tablecloths. It felt something between a wake and corporate away day! There were a few high stools in the kitchen but some of these seemed extremely rickety. Perhaps the worst thing about our visit was the huge number of herring gulls that were resident in this part of town. They were extremely noisy from 4.15am onwards and woke up even the youngsters in our group on each day.
Just returned from a 2 night stay for a hen part at the town house. Had a fantastic stay with the city right on the doorstep. The arrival was very welcoming with tea/coffee and some snacks waiting for us. The booking was very simple and was able too email the owner and have our questions quickly answered. Fitted all the party comfortably in the house with adequate bathrooms. All the hens were very pleased with the accomadation and I will 100% be recommending this accomadation.
Excellent location - 5 mins walk from the train station. Each room was beautifully presented, clean, with towels and linen. Spacious dining room and lounge for communal areas, great for larger groups. Well stocked kitchen in terms of mugs, plates and glasses. But cooking equipment wasn't so great- a small minus in an otherwise fantastic rental. We had a wonderful stay - thank you!
A beautiful house in a very central location. Excellent cleanliness . The little extras made a difference such as croissants, tea and coffee. The house is huge, so plenty of room for a 15 strong hen do! A wonderful time was had by all!
Visited for Christmas markets with 17 friends. Location is fantastic and the house is huge. Unfortunately lots of little things make up to a mediocre review. Dining room is so difficult to get into due to shape of table that we hardly used it. Just put 2 tables in! Surprised there is no coffee machine, but M&S is literally round the corner. Top bedroom ridiculously hot especially bed beside boiler.
Basement rooms are cold and smell horribly of damp. Really surprised heating isn't on low down there all the time - not pleasant. Beds are comfy but very narrow. A major gripe is given that mainly women visit - one small wardrobe per room and zero drawer space!! Chandaliers are lovely but if you have them, clean them!
