The hotel didn't have a standard double left when we booked so as a surprise my husband booked a four poster for the first night and the standard double for the other two. The hotel left us in the room for the other two nights at the standard price which was lovely. The room was perfect for Bath it had a kind of faded grandeur. The shower wasn't the best in the world but it was adequate and every thing else was so perfect it would have seemed churlish to complain. I saw a review from someone else complaining about damp towels we mentioned it and they were immediately changed. It appears like most hotels they don't change them unless you leave them on the floor it is just there is nothing to tell you that. I would suggest a line on the guest info or a heated towel rail so they dried would be useful . This was not a problem and would in no way prevent us staying there again or recommending the hotel unreservedly to others. The breakfast was great ,the staff really friendly and the garden lovely. We particularly appreciated the incredibly reasonable price for a bottle of champagne something which is normally prohibitively expensive in hotels. We didn't buy any other drinks or food from the menu but we were really impressed by the prices. The hotel is really good at the little touches nice biscuits and toiletries in the room.decent size towels and two nice soft pillows each .

After driving around Bath for what seemed hours looking for a B&B (apparently we were on the wrong side of town!), we saw a sign for Bailbrook. We were tired and hungry (and cold!) I went in expecting the price to be far too high and was greeted warmly and friendly. Price was better than the Travelodge we'd stayed at the night before AND we got a room each, and one of the nicest breakfasts we had the whole trip. It was a lovely Georgian style house complete with a lounge and four posted bed. It was a real shame to leave the next day, definitely could have stayed here a lot longer!

Stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights between 8th and 10th August - we were looking for something reasonably handy for some sightseeing but couldn't believe our luck with what we found.

Welcome in arrival was warm and tremendously friendly, and to be told that we had been upgraded to a four-poster suite only added to this! Room (the Beau Nash suite) was fantastic, with excellent views; very clean and quiet. Location was excellent - two minute walk to the bus stop (10 min journey to the Abbey, depending on traffic) or taxi was only £6-7.

Excellent service, and very friendly and helpful staff - my only regret is that we didn't stay longer, but I'm sure we'll put that right next time we visit.

Would not hesitate to recommend!

Just come back from this trip and still recovering. The rooms smelt of mould and damp. Towels were not replaced, but instead soiled bath mats were put on top of our towels. Water everywhere in the bathroom after a shower (thus the constant smell of mould and damp). Freezing cold (and this is summer we're in) because bedding was very basic so we had to use this little fan heater. Can't imagine staying in winter. Won't be going back.
