Popped in on recommendation from a nearby garage servicing our car!
We were so impressed, the lady serving couldn’t have been more friendly & helpful ( I’m a fussy coffee drinker) nothing seemed too much trouble.

Latte & cakes arrived, all delicious.

Will be returning next year when we have our car service haha!

Thank Jane D

I've been a number of times to this place and consistently receive dreadful service. Today I entered and was ignored for a couple of minutes. The woman serving carried a pile of saucers through gave no salutation or apology for keeping me waiting.
I bought two items, she took my money and then vanished without saying thank you, goodbye or would I like a carrier bag - which I did! It's a huge shame these people are so rude.

Absolutely appalling customer service. As a regular local customer, I popped in briefly to use the toilet for my 2 year old son as we had just started potty training. When I explained what I had done to the staff, I was met with an exceptionally snotty response despite being a customer in the deli the day before. I will not return.

My friend and I made our first visit to the cafe at the deli in Chelsea rd today at 11.00 and had no trouble finding a seat as it was empty. It felt clean and spacious, off to the side of the deli, with a large window onto the street, toys and games for children and magazines and newspapers. At the counter I asked which of the cakes and pastries on offer was gluten free. Apparently nothing was, except the Victoria sponge. I eyed the sponge suspiciously, never having seen a less gluten free looking cake, but the lady behind the counter seemed confident that it was gluten free so I decided to try it. The black coffee and cake were both delicious. My friend ordered a cappuccino and a croissant. The croissant was extremely dry and unappetising. It had a cardboard texture and we decided it was certainly not one baked fresh that day. I suggested that we complain but my friend felt uncertain of a sympathetic reception so we decided against it. We didn't want to spoil an otherwise pleasant morning.

I am not one to complain but felt it important to write this review as was saddened by my experience at this establishment today. Wanted somewhere quiet to feed my baby who had screamed at me for a good 20 minutes so was already tired, quite stressed and was hoping to be greeted by a smile and a warm welcome. Instead I got looked at like I was a nuisance, was watched whilst I tried to get my pram between two tables and only offered reluctant help when it was clear I was struggling. Then a rude comment was muttered about my pram and the space. Now I'd be in total agreement if the place was busy but it was dead... not one soul! No wonder if this is how they treat customers and if you look at their Facebook reviews this seems to be a common theme. I did mention my disappointment at the way I was treated as I left and was apologised to but felt it shouldn't have come to this. I will never set foot in here again nor recommend it to anyone. If you want friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere head to the Chelsea Cafe... the fact it's busy and this place isn't speaks for itself! Xxx
