Really pleased you enjoyed your stay Monica - you will be welcome back whenever you can make it. Carl
Stayed for three nights in this lovely big apartment. Carl, the owner, was very helpful from the start of booking, through to leaving. Advising on best route of travel, offering advise on parking, ( once he had met us in person at property,) and walking us back through town, pointing out sights / shops / restaurants etc. He was v. understanding that our scheduled arrival was delayed by an hour ( M6 traffic ! ) Shrewsbury is a beautiful town. Zillions of great eating / watering holes, all within v.easy walking distance of apt. Surrounding countryside is lush, green, England.
Apt. is well equipped with all essentials, and we were also left some really handy, and thoughtful extras upon our arrival. Double bed is v. comfy, bunk beds fine for our two teenage daughters. Plenty of storage. Plenty of mirrors ( for girls ! ) Bathroom lovely. Sitting room large, comfy sofas, great tv / sound system. Kitchen all good, but property desc. says that there is a dishwasher...there isn't. This didn't bother us, as we were out most meals, but does need altering on description.
Just a couple of downsides, that I have left till last, as only real detail-seekers ever read ALL of a lengthy review. And they would NOT put us off staying again, but it isn't fair NOT to mention.....
Parking in Shrewsbury is a real issue. Limited, and expensive. Unloading your car with ease, relies on the v.limited space outside apt. being available, then a 10min slot is the max. allowed stay, before driving round town to another car park. Carl gave good advise on the best one etc. They are not cheap, but only certain ones offer stays of more than 1 or 2 hours. If you plan to stay IN Shrewsbury, this is not a problem, we needed to be in and out, so not so handy, as all-day parking is quite a walk. On the upside....the walking gave us a chance to burn off a few of the calories that most holidayers manage to consume too much of !!!
There are also quite a few steep stairs up to the apt. Not ideal for push-chairs, or anybody with mobility issues. But for the average human.....just another tiny help with the fitness levels !!! Thanks for a great flat, communication and extras !!
Thank you for your lovely review Karen and Stephen. I am still looking for your lost glasses but as yet no joy - so I don't think they can have been lost in the appartment. The unloading and parking is a problem in Shrewsbury, which is one of the reasons why I do meet and greet to make sure there are no issues. Perhaps in the future I should also advise missing the busy times in the town. A couple of people have stayed in the apartment whom have had mobility issues but I always do try and check out with people about stairs. I have put in the listing that it is not mobility friendly and always advise that people should look elsewhere if they have any doubts whatsoever. Finally thanks for the dishwasher comment. I never realised and have altered the listing accordingly. Many thanks Carl
The apartment itself was much larger than we expected. The bathroom and kitchen had everything we could possibly need.
The sound system, TV, etc. we're not used by us, but they were top notch.
what made this over the top was Carl...from some fresh fruit upon arrival, to showing us the town by foot so we could get to the car park, and then saving us when we couldn't get a taxi to make a wedding at Rowtown Castle on time!
The location is righ in the center of Shrewsbury and we didn't need our car the entire time we were there.
Highly recommend and we wished we could've stayed much longer!
I never thanked you for your lovely review. Much appreciated. Best Wishes Carl
We stayed in this lovely apartment for 6 days with 2 young children. The location and property were exceptional, very spacious and with everything you would need and more as well as feeling really homely. Very central location. We were visiting friends in a nearby village and it was our first trip to the area. There was so much to see and do in town and the surrounding areas.
The owner went the extra miles to be super helpful and make our stay such a joy.
I would highly recommend to everyone.
It was my pleasure Fatima and it was great to meet both you and your lovely children. If you visit Shrewsbury again please say Hello. I promise to keep topped up on baking trays!
My partner & I stayed here for the weekend recently and we loved it. We have family in Shrewsbury so wanted somewhere to say fairly central - this is the perfect location! Perfect for accessing shopping and cocktails! Our favourite place for cocktails was the libertines, it's very quirky and the cocktails are amazing...especially if made by our favourite mixologist Fred, he is very talentated! We then had a fabulous meal at number four, we went crazy for the sticky toffee pudding. Overall we had a fabulous time in Shrewsbury, there is so much to do. The accommodation it's self was a real pleasure to stay in, the bed was really comfortable, every where was spotless and I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi bath!! I couldn't recommend anywhere better to stay than here, it's a real treat with so many lovely places to visit.
Its great to hear you had such a lovely time. I hope you visit again soon and if so remember the flat is always available and I will try and work out a little discount for someone returning. Thanks
Great stay, the rooms are lovely decorated and the position of the Chandeliers is in a excellent position for the shop's and restaurants.
would make a return visit.
I am really glad you enjoyed your stay Alison - I think I saw you in the Pour House drinking those lovely cocktails!!
