We received a warm welcome on our arrival to The Dairy. The cottage itself was lovey and had all the things we needed in it. The milk and the cake were a nice touch. We had a lovely stay and will hopefully be visiting the cottage again in the future.
I am so happy we stumbled across Highgrove barns, such a lovely place to stay.
Everything you needed. From baking trays to make cookies to heated flooring. We had such a lovely weekend. The company obviously makes a special holiday but we couldn't have found a more lovely place to stay. Such kind owners to the extent of sending me my charger through the post due to leaving it behind after our short break. The cake was lovely and having milk fresh in the fridge was perfect for our cup of tea we were ready for on arrival :-) shops close by and a lovely Chinese. You are surrounded with stunning views.
Shropshire is a county with attractive scenery, small market towns and an abundance of historic sites and this small self-contained cottage style property is an ideal base from which to explore the area. The accommodation has a pleasant living cum kitchen room, an adequate double bedroom and modern shower room, just right for country lovers be they walkers, cyclists or those who potter about. With the owners on site we received personal and very helpful attention, the local, knowledge was most appreciated.
The property was clean, tidy and with a welcome tray, which made a pleasant arrival coming in from the ample parking on the adjacent ex-farm yard. Plenty of appliances and equipment were to be found in the kitchen area, which had a small breakfast bar (no separate dining table in this cosy cot). The under-floor heating was not needed for our stay, although we did put the gas fire on one or two nights whilst watching the rather small TV!
We would normally stay somewhere were we could walk to a pub or restaurant for an evening meal. Whilst this is possible from the Dairy (15min walk down a very narrow un-lit lane) we used the car into Craven Arms.
The owner kindly showed us the Byre, which is a little larger and looks just as comfortable.
Our tip: Book very early if you plan to visit the nearby Ludlow Food Festival, which you can reach by bus or train from Craven Arms.
