We had a great time in the cottage; blessed with good weather we could open the half-door and look out over the gorge in the sunshine. We had everything we needed - beds were comfortable and kitchen was well supplied.
The owners were very helpful and there were no organisational issues. Only gripes were that the shower isn't great, and the kitchen could do with better ventilation if you intend to cook in the cottage. Lots of nice eateries in walking distance, though, so you don't need to cook
Overall a very nice place to stay.
If you put in holiday cottages into the internet in Ironbridge Martha's Cottage will always come up. So excellent marketing. The reviews are also on the good side with the odd negative one which is expected. So we booked a week's stay as I had always wanted to see the birthplace of the industrial revolution. On arrival parked in the allotted space, very useful as we later found out and where shown round by the owner and made to feel very much at home, So far so good. We knew the décor was glitzy verging on tarts boudoir from the photos but in real life I must admit it was slightly overpowering combined with the odds and sod placed on every flat surface. So a bit of re ordering was needed to fit our stuff in. A visit to the bedroom to unpack brought the realisation that for a couple to sleep in the bed would involve one person climbing over the other as the past its best mattress took up the whole of the alcove! The canopy didn't help to reduce the claustrophobic sleeping situation either. So onward, In the morning went for a shower in the very 1980's, difficult to access, corner bath. Well, ended up having to kneel in bath and play with the shower handset as the water pressure was nil and the trickle just about reached the parts as directed. Definitely in need of an update to acceptable modern day standards. I totally understand that this cottage is really a one up one down with rear extension so palatial it is not but yes it is nice providing there is only one person in the double bed and you don't like showers along with in your face decorations.

Very reasonably priced place for a short stay. Owners very helpful before arrival and while we were there. Easy to find. Quite a steep climb up from the centre of the town but not a problem for us 60+ oldies.
The decor is dated in style and could really benefit from redecoration, but clean and comfortable. Interior rather dark, and several light bulbs not working. One bulb popped, tripping a fuse, but the owner had shown us where the fuse box was, so easily remedied - I guess it might be not unusual.
Biggest niggle was the absence of a shower. There's a hand-held shower attachment on the bath taps, but no shower curtain so care was needed. This would be the first thing I'd upgrade - the bath could be replaced with a shower cubicle.
The kitchen has almost no natural light, and there's no dishwasher, but we weren't too bothered by this. Storage in the twin room is negligible. Some hooks on the doors would help a little. Only heating appeared to be a gas fire in the lounge, but for a small cottage this would probably be enough.
Parking was awkward to manoeuvre into ; only space for one car, and road to property narrow, but not busy.
Ironbridge is a really interesting and pretty area to spend a few days. The museums are fabulous. We only managed four in two and a half days, and will certainly return for the rest. (Combined tickets are great value and allow unlimited return in a year.) I have previously spent a walking holiday there and it's great walking country.
Overall, the cottage met our needs. We were out all day and only spent evenings in, and it was adequate for that. It definitely needs updating, but the low price reflects that.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April. It was really useful to be able to book just those three nights at a time that we wanted rather than have to book a full week or weekend only. The communication with the owner was very quick and helpful. The cottage itself is tiny and well equipped with parking right outside which is a real bonus in this part of Ironbridge. It had everything that we wanted and the owners nextdoor were keen for us to enjoy our stay - which we did. We struggled a bit with the fire, but after being shown how to get it alight all was well. Written instructions might have been handy. There is no space between the bed and window in the main bedroom, so be prepared for that. The view from the window first thing in the morning is simply stunning. Very impressive giant rabbit!
Absolutely charming. Uneven floors, walls and doors! Best dawn chorus - do sleep with open windows!! Attentive landlord, no need unmet! Really fantastic. Met Bunty the giant rabbit. And also met a fox in the road early morning - totally unfazed by our car!! Will be back!! Thank you
