Perfect location. Lovely pub Ye Olde Robin Hood right next door. Lovely food and great to sit outside with a drink. Cottage had everything we needed for a couple of days. Very peaceful no noise from pub next door. 10 to 15 minutes pleasant stroll by river to Ironbridge. Only downside awkward parking in front of cottage. Other than that recommend to anyone wanting a few days in lovely Shropshire.
Had a lovely few days at river cottage. It is very well placed for seeing the surrounding area. The pub next door is very handy and does very good food and craft ales. Cottage is comfortable and clean.
If you are after dog friendly accomosation in Ironbridge then this fits perfectly. Nestled between two pubs (only one dog friendly) the cottage has everything you need and certainly in February was great value. When we visit friends again we would not hesitate to book this again. I even managed a to cook a full roast dinner for friends. Top holiday rental!!
Excellent location. We had a wonderful time over the New Year. The cottage is very suitable if you have a dog. Kitchen equipment is a bit sparse (we bought a fruit bowl from a charity shop - I hope future residents will appreciate its quirky charm). We had to move the furniture around to make the cottage more cosy (the layout is not as shown in the photo). The radiator valves did not work so there was no way of turning radiators off. which meant that it got too hot in the bedrooms. With a little more attention to detail, this would be a perfect holiday cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed Ironbridge and the museums, but we were disappointed with some aspects of the cottage. Although comfortable, convenient and quiet at night, we do not agree with the 'spotlessly clean' reviews of others. Some of the kitchen ware had to be washed before use, glasses had been put away wet. Access to upper garden was restricted by overgrown nettles. There were no instructions for any of the appliances. The TV wasn't tuned in and had to be done by us, thereby missing 25% of the Grand Prix!
