Went there with my family yesterday. They had beef and pork. I had duck. The food was delicious. Lots of lovely roasted vegetables. There was too much for the four of us. The mixed starters were really nice too. We didn't have any pudding as we were too full.
The pub looks beautiful and makes a nice change from Wolvercote.

We visited here for a quick family lunch. It is a lovely old building, with a delightful welcoming smell of a real wood fire. The background music was tudor madrigals, very fitting for the surroundings. It was quite busy, but we were quickly seated and our order taken. The food arrived in a short space of time, really excellent home-made burger in a brioche bun and tempura battered whiting, both served with tasty skin-on chips. Generous portions, nice presentation, friendly staff, they just get it right! We were here in the autumn, but they have a nice outdoor seating area as well, and across the yard is a wonderful old barn which looks as though they do events in, as it was set up with lots of bench tables.

Family lunch to celebrate my Mother in laws birthday. Arrived late (due to traffic from Southampton) to meet the rest of the family. The staff greeted us with smiles, no problem about not quite being there for the time we were booked in. The rest of the party were sat in the bar waiting . Meal was really tasty - all of us really enjoyed our choices. The puds were pretty yummy too. Very friendly serving staff, no rush. All in all a very pleasent way to spend a leisurerly lunch.

My partner spotted this in The Telegraph and booked us a table for Saturday evening. It was well worth the hour drive!

I'm vegan but this did not phase the staff at all. I was very pleasantly surprised to not only be able to have a three course meal but to have a choice of options! We shared bread, balsamic, olive oil, olives, caper berries and cournichons. I had beef tomato tartare (without mozzarella) to start, a delicious beetroot bourguignon for main and a trio of sorbets for dessert (kiwi, plum and raspberry). My partner had pigs cheeks to start, pork with root vegetables for his main and a trio of ice creams for dessert. He also thought everthing was delicious!

We were served by Adam who was so polite and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, including going back and forth to the kicthen to check on the vegan options for me! He's a credit to The White Hart.

We'll definitely be coming back here again!

We had friends from Holland with us and nowhere else could have bettered their impression of what a good English Pub, with a good restaurant, should be like. The welcome was genuine, even though they were extremely busy, the food excellent and the attention of the staff could not have been better. We were advised by the waitress that they there had been new management this year and she almost demanded criticism so they could improve. It was difficult to see how they could do better, other than perhaps something " lighter " on the lunch menu. The Oxford area is blessed with a number of good pubs but I cannot recall any that betters the White Hart.
