“Gema Great boat on a great river”
Reviewed 13 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Great weekend cruising down the Thames through Henley and Marlow. Peacefully taking in the sights, at a pace unfamiliar on the outskirts of London.

Dodging professional rowers, paddlers, and audiences at locks were all taken in our stride. Thanks to the tips from Jane our navigation was stress free and enjoyable.

Gemma was a joy to pilot up the wide reaches of the Thames and surprisingly agile. The hand back to your colleague Sam was very quick and it was good to be getting on our way.

Thanks again for the hire of Gema which was well equipped, tidy and reliable narrow boat.

“Well appointed and maintained narrow boat”
Reviewed 22 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We had an excellent midweek break on the Thames aboard the Gema. Despite her 69' length, we found her manageable to handle and had no issues, thanks to the excellent introductory training from Jane. The cabins are well appointed - two bathrooms were a treat, and the beds are remarkably comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we never missed any of the comforts of home aboard.

My only disappointment was finding out that the boat is not licensed for C&RT canals, as our plan had been to sail up the Kennet & Avon. I don't fault Jane at all for this, as we booked through a third party (Waterways Holidays) that advertised the boat when one searched for the K&A Canal. Probably best to book with MyRiverCruising directly in hindsight.

Thank you for your review. We're delighted you had an enjoyable cruising holiday. We'll definitely look into organising a canal licence for you in the future as the Kenner and Avon canal is beautiful, as is the Thames of course. Hope to see you again soon and thank you for booking us. Jane and Rob
