We visited on a very miserable day unfortunately so didn't look around the garden and outside areas as much as we would have liked. We found the house very interesting and the guides were excellent and knowledgeable. I would have liked a little more information regarding the motor industry side of his life.

Visited today with friends, our second visit. Once again an interesting house with helpful and informative room staff, but the tearoom.........oh dear, uncleared tables, dirty cups which had to be replaced, poor service, certainly one of the poorest NT tea rooms we have been to....not improved since our visit last year. NT this is something that needs to be attended to........

Second visit to the house but first visit to the tea room, still enjoyed looking around and learnt even more about this fascinating man and his family and would recommend to anybody that this is a worthwhile national trust property, the tea room however is a disgrace, very small, all tables dirty and not cleared of crockery, overcooked scones, cold sausage rolls, could not have a ham sandwich as apparently the ham was still frozen!
This is the worst NT cafe we have ever encountered and let's the rest of the visit down.

A small house, especially for such a wealthy man, with a strong 1930s atmosphere. If you like that period, it will be a delight; if not, it's a little underwhelming. Surrounded by pleasant gardens. Track to the car park a bit bumpy and full of chalky puddles - be prepared to clean your car afterwards!

Quite a modest house, compared to some other National Trust properties, but a reflection of the man who lived there: William Morris/ Lord Nuffield. We visited on a Saturday morning, turning up just before 11 and had a walk around the garden before our timed entry ticket at 11:20. Our guide: Tony Boffin was extremely knowledgeable about the man and his philanthropic deeds. It really brought the visit to life. On the guided tour you do not visit all the rooms, so we went back into the house after a walk through the woodlands and a snack lunch. The rest of the rooms in the house open at 1:00pm.
I would echo some comments about the cafe, in that it is really small, not very well laid out and has a skeleton staff which meant a wait for food. Come on NT, this needs sorting out. However, the sandwiches we had were freshly prepared and quite filling.
