We found Cinderella a bit disappointing this year and slightly boring I’m sorry to say. We come every year and this year we just found it not as funny and a bit more serious. Bring back the funny jokes and take away the serious aspects of the pantomime!!
The theatre itself is really nice and we have never had any problems.

Excellent venue in easy walking distance from city centre and public transport, including trams. Uniquely designed seating structure allowing a good view wherever you sit. Great range of dramas, dance, music and comedy amongst other things, available throughout the year. Went to see Mark Steele (comedian) - fabulous performance and the Playhouse was the ideal venue. Good range of children's entertainment and workshops as well, offering an experience of what happens backstage. Excellent service and great value discounts available. Fabulous bar and restaurant available for pre-theatre meals and drinks. Well worth a visit!

Went last night to see Cinderella at Nottingham playhouse this venue is a great size so good view wherever you sit. Cinderella was great plenty of laughs Plenty of audience participation. All of the cast were good and even adjusted to the audience and included some jokes for a group of brownies in the audience. We will definitely be going next year and reccomend this pantomime.

We’ve been coming to the Playhouse panto for 30 years and were disappointed this year. Perhaps it was because it is after the new year, the audience was much smaller, but the cast seemed to be going through the motions at times. We got the message about the sponsors, but it seemed a more budget production this year. Past productions have astonished us with the sets, the costumes, 3D effects. The actress who plays Cinderella has a lovely singing voice but a high pitched whingy speaking voice, but Prince Charming was excellent. Dandini was also good, but he did a strange thing - during his duet he went over to the side of the stage and looked to be panting and holding his chest. We were anxious that he was really ill, as his actions weren’t caricatured enough, but he went back to join in at the end. Missed having a single Dame, there was very little interaction with the audience / relatives during the children on stage section - always a highlight. Where was the hosepipe, where was the broken crockery, and who ate all the sweets, normally chucked into the audience? We wondered if the story had been written around the cast members, rather than casting for the story. We have seen the cast members before in roles much more suited to them. Why was there a Dowager Duchess, but no Baron Hardup or a stepmother? Great Buttons, however, and we must congratulate Uncle Johnny, who always does a fine job.

So sorry to say that this years panto really wasn't as good as last years.
First half was lackluster, poorly scripted and directed.
Second half was much improved....but the "he's behind you" moment sums it up....effort, it's a simply scene but we needed more direction.

The ugly sisters that were the same cast as last year are superb....with experience. I think they had their hands tied.

No milk for coffee in the foyer bar...
No milk!!!! There is a shop close by and a restaurant/bar in the same building.
For £40 per ticket..... Let down.
