As a member visited last Sunday ( 7/10) and was manic with visitors which was great. All went well until tried to purchase guide book in shop (which was packed) and notice at counter stated I must pay at catering till....no way as there must have been a 20-25 minute wait with people queueing for food , maybe a staff/volunteer shortage ??? will go again though as thoroughly enjoyable location …..

Lovely cafe, excellent NT cakes as usual. Good start place for walks. Lots of choice easy or as hard as you want to make it. Lots of parking.

What a find. It seems this place is well known by locals but does not get picked up if you google something like ‘walking in the Peaks’.
It is just beautiful and takes you for a walk down the gorge and through ancient woodland. We found a walk on ‘Countryfile’ which was only three miles but took as about three hours as we took in the scenery. It is quite a demanding walk in places as the upward path is demanding in places.
It is also one of the best places to see cut and then abandoned millstones. It is a spectacular walk.

A gem in the NT portfolio. A must visit and what made this particularly enjoyable was the trail organised for the kids.
