We had a great time today. We parked near the cafe and came across some "fairy houses" which my 2yo loved, and then had a gentle stroll to the duck pond. My toddler also liked the cottage garden behind the cafe. There's a good picnic area too, and clean toilets. Parking cost around £3.50 for 4 hours. Everything else is free (cafe and gift shop excepted!). Perfect for exploring with a young family.

Me and the family visit this treasure quite often.

Lovely little cafe on site with good facilities.

So many different little areas to explore around the grounds, very pretty and my children love it.

Can get very busy at weekends, especially if the weather is nice.

This is a large area owned and run by the National Trust. In good weather it is outstanding with superb walking areas. One really good walk is to start at the National Trust car park and walk along Padley gorge. At the end you are rewarded by the excellent national trust cafe.

Spoiled our visit! Due to a photography event porta loos were made available to delegates. That is fine but one would think that on an estate that size a better place could be found than right in front of the coffee area!!!!
