Always so peaceful staying here. In addition to being wonderfully located for the Moors, seaside and city of York, just being in the accommodation is heavenly, with woods and gardens to roam. Anne, the owner, is so generous, with her time and tips. Dog-friendly, child-friendly, getting-away-from-it-all-friendly. Just gorgeous.
We loved our stay at platform 1; picturesque surroundings and decorated beautifully. The accommodation is comfortable, well equipped and dog friendly.
Anne and Edmond couldn't have done more to make our family and puppy feel very welcome; the complimentary treats were very much appreciated.
Thanks for a lovely stay.
Great spot for a short break. Anne made us very welcome. The welcome pack was excellent and the cottage has everything you need. We will certainly return.
We felt very welcome here. Everything is carefully thought out and maintained to the highest standard. Occasional trains rumble past, momentarily disturbing the glorious birdsong, otherwise the 'real' world seems far away.
A wonderful property set against the backdrop of the Howardian Hills, an area of "outstanding natural beauty". There is plenty to see and do: walking around Castle Howard's environs from the doorstep, touring attractive Yorkshire villages or an easy bus journey to enjoy the many amenities and attractions in York. The one bedroomed accommodation is superb with finishing touches such as Molton Brown toiletries, gorgeous White Co bed linen and fluffy thick towels. A very well plannned kitchen that is easy to manage. The fact that it is dog friendly will make it appeal to many and that fact in no way detracted from our own dog less stay. The garden is very special and the window boxes made me ashamed of my own efforts. The welcome basket of some basic essentials plus a super bottle of Malbec and toothsome treats was very helpful.
